Hey everyone! Greetings from Orlando, Florida. Although today was a day off (from the parks) for us. It actually felt like I was running around more today (with the car). And it turns out that the kids wanted to back to Disney Springs. We walked around, did some shopping and enjoyed a very yummy Berry Açaí smoothie at Joffrey’s. After that it was pretty much non-stop until having to get Javier and Caesar to the airport and headed back to their home state of Washington. We had a few other stops and are now headed to visit Stacia and her brand new kittens! Busy gal and it seems that I’m exhausting my crew. Lol I’ll be back atcha tomorrow from Hollywood Studios! -Travelin’ Tanya | A big, warm Tuesday hello!! Wow - not sure what happened to this weather, but I woke up to a very misty, gray day. I don't mind except that the handyman is not getting here to check out my kitchen leak until this afternoon. I'm crossing my fingers that there is no heavy downpour so that there is no more water coming through the ceiling again!! Crossing my fingers that he figures this problem out! Moving along... While Tanya takes it easy today, giving her gang a day to sleep in and relax, I was a busy beaver all morning writing scripts for upcoming Travelin' Cousins YouTube videos. Today, we are so excited to bring you another video, which is currently uploaded on our page, featuring my latest dining experience at Number 5 Restaurant in Astoria, Queens last week. As you know, I'm a big binge watcher! Once I start a new show, if it catches my interest, I have a very hard time stepping away from the screen. My three obsessions are on Netflix - one of which I have completed, waiting for the next season and the other two I am still in the midst of watching. Ozark is one that I starting watching with Kelsey but she lost interest after a few episodes. Me, on the other hand, who loves intrigue and anything having to do with either organized crime or the drug cartels, was immediately drawn in. Although it premiered in 2017, I never got around to watching it until now. If you are not familiar with the storyline, here is a brief description: Jason Bateman stars as Marty Byrde, a financial planner who relocates his family from Chicago to a summer resort community in the Ozarks due to some "issues" with the Mexican drug cartel for which he was laundering money. His wife Wendy, played by Laura Linney, and their two kids all know the truth about Marty's predicament, which now calls for him to pay off a substantial debt to a Mexican drug lord in order to keep his family safe. And so it goes... With 3 seasons to go, I literally could not stop watching it! Similarly to how I was addicted when watching Breaking Bad. Anyhoo, I finished the last episode (of Season 3) this past weekend and if you haven't watched this series, let me tell you, the final episode was, in a word - SHOCKING!!! Now I have to wait until some time in 2021 for the next and FINAL season, after it was announced a few months ago that Ozark would be cancelled. Schitt's Creek which was recently a favorite at the Emmy Awards, is the comedy sit-com that Kelsey immediate began to watch following her departure from watching Ozark. I I have always loved both Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara and they are so wonderful paired together. Levy's son Daniel is absolutely hysterical in his dead pan, serious role as Levy and O'Hara's pan sexual son. The basic storyline is about a nouveau riche couple, Johnny and Moira Rose, whose fortune was made as a result of Johnny's video store empire, the second-largest in North America. Years earlier as a joke, Johnny bought his son David a small backwater town called Schitt's Creek. When they lose their fortune and are left broke due to circumstances, the couple, along with their extremely spoiled and jetsetter adult children retreat to this town, the only thing not repossessed by the IRS, Moira is a former daytime soap-opera actress and is hysterical as she navigates their new "poor" existence with an accent that is difficult to pinpoint. As a family, they are forced to contend with towns folks who are unsophisticated and adjust to their life in a roadside motel. Kelsey and I LOVE this show and it provides some good bonding fodder for mom and teenage daughter. We still have several seasons to go. The Kominsky Method is a show I remember being advertised when it was first premiering in 2018. Well, I decided to give it a shot and folks, let me tell you, it is pretty darn funny! Michael Douglas plays an actor who made it big a long time ago and who now is an acting coach at his studio named after himself, "The Kominsky Method." His best friend and agent , played wonderfully by Alan Arkin, loses his wife to cancer, which leaves both of them questioning their existence as they struggle through choices and relationships, old and new. In 2019, it won a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. The cast is terrific with some very talented young actors as well as recurring characters and cameos by some of Hollywood's best including Nancy Travis, Elliot Gould and Lainie Kazan, who I absolutely adore. I am still not sure whether my kids would embrace this show since it does focus on the plight of getting older, but I am truly enjoying it!! Well, folks, that's it for today. Cheers! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
