Elisa's Daily ScoopFriday and Fabulous!Hi there!!! Yay! It's Friday! And Yay on so many levels! Food Friday is the first reason I'm so excited! Today we have a guest writer - Mr. Christopher Byrne - who has graced us with his review of Muriels Jackson Square Bistro in New Orleans! Chris is one of my dearest, long-time friends. We met MANY years ago when we were both wee pups, coming up the ranks in the Toy Business. In fact, I'm proud to say, Chris accompanied me to Vera Wang over 17 years ago to purchase my wedding dress!!! (Don't I wish I had a picture of that day!) Today, Chris is without a doubt, THE industry expert on everything toys. He is sought out from around the globe by Fortune 500 companies for his opinions on this multi-billion dollar industry, as well as being featured on television, radio and print media to discuss toy trends and the hottest new products! I could go on and on about Chris, but for more information about Chris and his wonderful Foodie Friday review, please CLICK HERE. And of course, the timing for featuring a great New Orleans restaurant couldn't be better with Fat Tuesday right around the corner, next week!! Thanks Chris!! Today also happens to be when I leave with the kiddies for Florida! And let me tell you, their excitement is palpable! It's all they can talk about. We've got a late flight - 9:45pm - making our arrival into Orlando after midnight. From there, we have a two hour drive west to Clearwater, where we will be staying for two nights. Gonna be a long night! The kids decided they will wear their pi's, which I think is a great idea! - Trust me, I'll be taking pics of them in their jammies in the airport! Gianna is all set with her new Cannon camera for a week of vlogging about our trip. In fact, this ten-year old is going to help her mom (me!) do a vlog or two for the Travelin' Cousins YouTube Channel. So, stay tuned. CLICK THE VIDEO BLOG IMAGE above for another great TC video produced by Gianna! As for today I have a pretty mellow day. Throwing those last minute necessities in my suitcase, and I'm ready to go! PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE!! ----->>>>>----->>>>>----->>>>> Well, the next time we chat, it will be from the Sunshine state! Have a Fabulous Friday!! -E | Tanya's Daily ScoopLet's ring in the Weekend!Welcome welcome WeLcOmE to your weekend! It's Friday yo! And although Friday may mean different things to many people, it always rings in a new weekend - which usually equates to some type of fun! I'll tell ya, even when I was a wee little lass, I use to always look forward to the weekends! While I didn't have a job, nor did I go to school (I was always home-schooled), I still always looked forward to Fridays and the weekend! Perhaps it was because my friends went to school and I was looking forward to them having more free time, or a family member who worked being home and being able to relax, or maybe it was just Saturday morning cartoons! lol Yup can you believe that the kids these days can TIVO or DVR anything?! What a luxury! I use to have certain shows on my calendar and rush home in order to catch them on the boob-tube! And now we pause LIVE TV and can record several shows at once! Wow! Times sure have come a long way! But I've actually got to admit, that I for one (as much as I appreciate having the ability to record favorite shows) watch less TV now that I can record it, then when I use to have a spot reserved on the couch for SEINFELD or FRIENDS or whatever... Kinda weird. Maybe it's because I'm so much more busy these days, or that most of todays programing just sucks?! Anyhow, being that it is Friday only means one thing here at TC, that it is FOODIE FRIDAY! And both Elisa and I are so super excited to have Christopher Byrne as our featured guest! Click HERE to read all about his recent experience in New Orleans! I've only been to NOLA once, but what a great foodie impression it left on me...I'll never forget! Here on the home front, we will actually be recognizing and celebrating NOLA on Feb. 17th - FAT TUESDAY with a big ol' New Orleans themed feast!! And back to today... We are suppose to be experiencing some extreme temperatures in the Southland, we're talking hitting 90F is the month of February! UGH - I HATE HIGH TEMPS Anyhow, depending on how the weather makes me feel, I might be going out to stables #2 this afternoon to take Cosette to see Dream and Star. We shall see. Later this evening, Dave and I will be taking the kiddies to go see the movie Kingsmen:The Secret Service and then Dave and I will be heading up to Los Angeles for a late pre-Valentine's dinner date at Crossroads Kitchen - our date night spot! Speaking of Valentine's Day, being that we are spending it up in Crestline, CA with the kids choir on their winter retreat; Dave and I are having a make up (post Valentine's) date-weekend at the end of the month! Which is going to be full of surprises and all planned by none other than Dave...so I don't know much! But I love surprises, so keep 'em coming! And that he did...I got a surprise beautiful floral bouquet last night - that I will be taking with me up to Crestline (hope the other ladies aren't too jealous), and then I was treated with 2 boxes of vegan chocolates this morning!! What an absolute sweetheart that I've got for a Valentine! Wishing my dear cousins a safe journey to the Sunshine State! And wishing you (the reader) a Great Holiday Weekend! See ya up in the mountains, -T |
