Goodbye 2014 - Welcome 2015Here we are folks!!!! The last day of 2014. I always get a little sad on New Year's. A year gone by and a year older. I could definitely deal with the year one by if it meant I didn't have to get older lol. So, what's in store for this evening? Well, I'm hoping to have some good laughs with Denise and her family at her house. I'm still a little disappointed that we were unable to get a sitter and go out. But, such is life with little kids. I managed to get some really silly 2015 eye glasses for the four kids from the dollar store. I'm sure they will not appreciate all the hours of endless thought I put into it. I know my Liberty girl is so excited for the new year!!! All kidding aside, it will be really nice to be with my kiddies tonight watching the ball drop in Times Square and wishing them Happy New Year at midnight! I need to calculate my total Travel Mileage and Days away for 2014. That's probably something I will do tomorrow. I was so upset for Tanya and the travel issues she had yesterday with her upcoming Park City Trip reservation. Take a read on the other side --->--->---> So tomorrow is the start of a new year - new beginning, another chance to do all the things you didn't do the previous year! Wishing you the happiest, most fun and safe New Year's Eve!!! See you back here tomorrow as we start a new year and a new adventure!!! -E | I'm sooo Ready for 2015!Hi there! For starters let's all give a big shoutout to my Mom for her birthday!!! We were all suppose to go out to a lovely dinner tonight, but I gave a call to the restaurant to confirm reservations and had a few issues over the phone with the owner who was a huge JERK! This guy was total DICK... And there was just no way that after how he treated me on the telephone that I wanted to have dinner at his establishment. He was Rude, Cocky, and... Had told me that he could tell we were going to be a problem! And that he didn't want to inconveince the guests that have reservations after us! Obviously putting them before us!!! He went on to say that we probably shouldn't even come. Sounds great to me you ASSWIPE! Onward... (However, as of this writing my mom has yet to come up with a replacement restaurant!!! Not sure what our plans are now!) Sooooo, let me tell you...after the day that I had yesterday, I am soooo ready to welcome in 2015! Who ever said that staying at home was without adventure??? Yesterday had seemed to be another regular day...simple schedule, normal routine... And of course travel planning! Well, I was getting all of my confirmations in order and I couldn't locate the confirmation for Lake Tahoe or for Park City. This was a bit odd, but I figured it wasn't really a biggie. I'd just call the properties and get them to resend my confirmations. I called Lake Tahoe first - DONE - quick and easy! I then called the agent who handled my reservation for Park City and at first she didn't even remember that I booked anything! Uh NOT GOOD! She searched and searched as I held my breath and waited on hold, she then would return back to the line with nothing! How could this be?!?! I gave the agent all the information that I had, and would be placed on hold again and again, and then finally she came back to the line and had found the file! Thank God! I knew I wasn't going crazy! But then she told me that she never received the confirmation from the property!! So now I was in limbo and the Utah office was closed for the day! I've got one word for you STRESS!!! I gave a call to a concierge friend of mine in Salt Lake City and told him about the situation. He was in shock, and then broke even more bad news... This is THE BUSIEST week of the year! With both the Sundance Festival and the biggest Outdoor Convention of the year taking place that same week! So of course that means low availability and sky high prices! I had to hold my breath until today... And I'm soooooooooooooo very happy to tell you that I have my confirmation! (insert Happy Dance here) In addition to all of that DRAMA: We also had a high wind advisory yesterday and through later this afternoon. With gusts up to 50MPH and last night one of those gusts took out a massive 60ft+ tree that was in our front yard! It sounded like nothing you've even heard before, a loud "thunk" like you'd imagine a meteor would sound like! We all ran outside and dropped our jaws! This tree fell on our house and killed Andrew's car! Luckily no one was hurt! But it came very close to crashing through the sliding glass doors on the balcony that goes into Jet's room! Holy Crap!!! So, like I was saying Bring on 2015! I'm ready for ya! Wishing you all a Very Safe and Happy NYE! Don't be stupid out there - be safe and see tomorrow! No drunk or buzzed driving!! Save a life and call a cab! See ya next year! -T |
