Elisa's Daily ScoopLast Day in Magic Kingdom ReflectionsGood day to you!! Happy Sunday!! Today, we check out of the Saratoga Springs and say goodbye to Disney World! (insert sad face). Me and the girls will head south to Boca Raton to visit with my Mom and Dad for a week, while Tedd returns to New York. I can tell you I'm not at all envious of the cold weather he is going to encounter upon his return!! I'm planning a relaxing week with "Grandma and Grandpa" with very little on the agenda. I'm hoping for some nice, invigorating morning walks with my Dad and hopefully, a daily visit to the gym at their development. I also enjoy cooking with Dad too - the girls already made it be known how much they want him to make his "famous" marinara sauce. Since I've opted to take Gianna and Kelsey out of school for the week (yikes), they will be getting all of their homework completed later today, so they can relax the balance of the time we are in Florida. Re-cap of My Last Day in Magic Kingdom 2015... I'm really excited to tell you about my last day in Disney World yesterday! It was a day that was basically centered around 3 Rides: * Seven Dwarfs Mine Train * Thunder Mountain Railroad * Splash Mountain I want to note here that we did secure Fast Passes for Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain for 12noon and 1pm respectively so we had to build our day around these times. Unfortunately, since there were no more Fast Passes available for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, our plan was to arrive bright and early to the park to see if we could minimize our time waiting on line by arriving first thing. SEVEN DWARFS MINE TRAIN... The day started with me and Gianna hopping on the Magic Kingdom bus at 7:30. After stopping briefly for some Starbucks on "Main Street," we dashed immediately to this attraction. (Tedd and Kelsey were to meet us at the park at 11). Our plan to arrive early paid off!! Although the wait time said 45 minutes, it was, in reality only about 25 minutes!!! Get a glimpse of the Mine Train ride: Gianna and I both had mixed feelings about this ride. Although it has a number of twists and turns, it is not terribly fast or long. It is, however, a great coaster for little kids because it's not a wild ride. My best advice is to get a Fast Pass for this ride, because I definitely do not think it's worth an hour or two hour wait. Here is my full commentary after riding the Mine train NEXT STOP... THUNDER MOUTAIN RAILROAD... This was clearly mine and Gianna's favorite ride in Magic Kingdom! We had a Fast Pass for this roller coaster yesterday scheduled for mid afternoon, as I mentioned above, but we thought since it was so early, and we had accomplished our mission of going on the Mine Train, we'd hop over to Thunder Mountain and see what the Wait Time was. Only 10 Minutes!!!! You can bet we ran on this ride... and fast!! And because it was such a quick wait time, Gianna and I went on twice!!! Check out what I have to say on line for Thunder Mountain: After our second time in a row riding Thunder Mountain yesterday morning: LAST BUT NOT LEAST: SPLASH MOUNTAIN... Gianna has been dying to go on Splash Mountain since we first got to Disney last Sunday. Yesterday was the big day. We had Fast Passes for this ride and as luck would have it for her, I decided not to go on, so not only did she go on once with Tedd, but she used my Fast Pass and went on a second time!! We spend the rest of our day going on a few other rides, including Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, The People Mover and The Carousel of Progress - all in Tomorrowland. A highlight for Kelsey was that we met up with one of her school mates who was also in Disney World this week. The two kids were so thrilled to see each other!!! Our day ended with a delicious dinner at Tony's on Main Street - the perfect end to a great vacation!! Here's to the next time we are back in Disney!!! See ya back here tomorrow from Boca Raton!! -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopClaws just won't do it!Hi there everyone! It's Oscar Sunday! And while although I haven't really seen many of the movies nominated, I still enjoy watching who comes down the Red Carpet and then sitting back for the big event! Today marks the day for the 87th Academy Awards! Who are your picks? Write them in the comments, and let's see who picks the winners!!! I've decided to make a few hors d'oeuvres for the occasion - which should be totally yummy finger foods!
The festivities shall commence after we all head to the bowling alley - which was Dominic's request from early December...but since most of the family couldn't go along, he/we decided to postpone the activity to a day that we can go as one big family! Speaking of which... This was exactly how we went to Rock City last night! Going to Rock City was Brigitte's birthday activity! And while I LOVE indoor Rock Climbing - and use to do this wonderfully exhilarating, and tough sport (that you get a kick a$$ workout from) quite frequently, I had something going against me on this particular visit... MY CLAWS! I couldn't climb at all. Boo. Had I known that this was the plan (Brigitte didn't even know that this was the plan), then I would've waited to get the tips put on and kept my shorter nails. Oh well. I have a membership that needs redeeming, and I redeemed Dominic's last night - so that means I'll be going there more often once again and that I'll get my nails cut down the next time I visit the salon. Before Brigitte had decided on what to do yesterday, we just sat around, getting hungry and waited... The first plan was to go to the beach, but that kinda dwindled away, then she came up with the idea of going to Rock City Climbing Gym in a few hours. Sounded like a good plan. Now needed to go eat! Dave, the kids, and I went to Loving Hut and had a yummy late lunch, and then on our way to the market to pick up the last remaining ingredients for Brigitte's dinner and cake, I got a text: "They close at 8 so are y'all ready to go in like 25" UGH! Means I'll need to shop and do all of my cooking on the back end! So be it. It's not my birthday. And that's what we did... Everyone had an absolute blast, and I stood there yearning to climb, but instead watched and took pictures. Then after picking up my remaining supplies, rushed into the kitchen, made the newly requested New Mexico style Burritos, and her Birthday cake! The celebration hadn't ended yet, once we returned home is when the friends started to show up, and it quickly turned into game night! FUN STUFF! So, that about does it! Onward to todays FUN! However, in thinking about it, I'm not quite sure how well I'm gonna be able to bowl with these claws either! I'll let you know how that goes! Have a good one! -T |
