BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
My Day at the Theater on Long Island
Hello guys,
I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that today is the last day of 2018. I must say, this has got to be the fastest year ever. I just don’t know where the time went! With tonight being New Year’s Eve and tomorrow is the start of a brand new year, I thought I would do a recap of my 2018 travel, theatre and fun as my feature tmw! For today, I want to tell you what a fun day I had yesterday with my girl Kelsey. We went to see elf the musical at the John W Engeman Theatre in Northport. We made it out of the house by noon with the 2 o’clock performance because as you know, no outing is complete for me and either of my girls unless it includes food! Luckily right across the street from the theater is the cutest coffee shop and café, Portofino. Since neither of us had eaten breakfast, we were pretty starving. We decided to split a Panini and a few cookies, Which we both pretty much inhaled.
After filling our bellies we made our way across the street Into the theater to pick up our tickets at will call. I was thrilled with the seats, however it’s pretty impossible to have a bad seat in this intimate venue.
The show was adorable on the performers were delightful. While all the musical numbers were enjoyable, I really enjoyed a tap dancing sequence featuring a group of dancing Santas! Of course photography was not permitted during the performance so I cannot share how cute the scene was. All in all, we had a really fun mother-daughter day!! The rest of the evening was pretty much relaxing, eating our Sunday pastas dinner and watching Guardians of the Galaxy for the second day in a row! Lol Looking forward to giving you a re-cap of my year tomorrow as well as some things to come in 2019! A huge Happy New Year!!!! -Travelin’ Elisa xoxo |
Ringing in the New Year with Family on my mom's Birthday!!!
Hiya!
You just have no idea how many times I tried to bop on here earlier in the day. But alas I am here and it is still NYE (New Year's Eve 2018).
December 31st or New Year's Eve as everyone else knows it happens to be my mom's birthday and in my household all my life it's been a celebration with family.
Speaking of family, yesterday Dave and I had ventured out to Agoura Hills to go and visit Dave's mom. Over the past few years she has been living in a retirement community and more currently in the memory care wing. As she has a case of dementia that I happen to think has worsened since my last visit.
We brought a box of chocolates for her, as she adores chocolate and devours every bite.
And now that she is pretty much without any short term memory, this box of chocolates just keeps on giving - each and every time she sees the box, it's a brand new surprise to bring her delight!
The only issue is that since the poor thing is so confused, when she reopened the box and noticed there were piece of chocolate missing not remembering that it was her who had eaten them, she questioned why there were pieces missing!
The ride out to Agoura without traffic is a minimum of 1.45h and with LA traffic could take hours upon hours to get there and then have to return. So needless to say that I was rather drained once we got back home.
Anyhow, just in case you missed yesterday's Daily Scoop you can check it out here: Tanya catches up with friends during busy times I'm going to keep it short and go back to the birthday celebration with the fam bam. I've got lots of AMAZING plans coming up and I'll be back here tomorrow to begin sharing them with you right here on the Daily Scoop. As for tonight, keep it safe and ring in the New Year with a bang! -Travelin' Tanya |
