Last Day TogetherGood day to you! Looks like my four-day weekend is coming to an end :-( But, not before having an entertaining day in the Big Apple! Back in early October, I received a special offer to see the new Broadway musical, Honeymoon in Vegas. Since this was one of my all-time favorite movies, I thought it would be a fun show to take the girls to see. I asked Tanya if she had any interest in catching a show together during her time in New York over Thanksgiving weekend and she was immediately up for it!! So, cut to today, a little over a week since previews began for this show, until the official opening in January and I'm very excited to see how they have managed to transform this hilarious movie for the stage. I love Tony Danza, who plays the "Tommy Korman" character, played by James Caan in the film version of this quirky love story. I'll give you the full low-down on this show next week, so you can decide for yourself if you would like to put it on your list of winter Broadway shows to attend. We are going to keep things very simple today. Considering that Kelsey still has a lingering cough and is not 100% well, our plan is to arrive in New York just in time for the show and then immediately head home when it ends. It would have been nice to grab a hot chocolate or snack together with Tanya and gang, but I just don't want to push it and risk Kelsey getting a relapse. The Week Ahead... Tanya and I have great stuff coming this week: * Entertainment Review of Honeymoon in Vegas The Musical * Travelin' Tuesday will bring some interesting surprises for our upcoming trips * Where to Go Wednesday will feature an overview of Great Christmas Season Events in New York area and Some Fun Christmas Must Do's in SoCal!!! * Throwback Thursday with Tanya will feature XXX * Foodie Friday will feature Becco, NYC And of course, some great Daily Scoops from your favorite cousins!!! Join us back here tomorrow for the start of a new week and a new month!! -E | Wrapping up our Big Apple visitHi Everyone! I'm all packed up and ready to check out and leave the city and head to Maspeth (just over the bridge) and do some more visiting; BUT that will be after we go for a fabulous brunch at Blossom, probably do some more shopping (I have no idea HOW I'm going to fit everything into our luggage for our return to California on Tuesday), and of course the highlight of the day will be seeing Honeymoon in Vegas on Broadway with Elisa and her gang! Yesterday was Dominic's birthday , and boy were we busy! I'm pretty sure that it's all a blur for Dave B, and Cosette who it seemed were being dragged along - they were so TIRED! We started out with some fun gift giving at the hotel, then off to a lovely breakfast at Champs Jr in Brooklyn (had to adjust locations in the interest of time), after a fast breakfast, we rushed back into the city and hustled to get to Radio City Music Hall to watch the Christmas Spectacular! Great Production, we had a blast and didn't want it to end! Next up was doing some shopping in one of the BEST cities for shopping in the WORLD!!! We then ran up to the hotel to drop off some bags and take a very quick breather before heading out once again... This time we were headed to lunch, and since I didn't want to rush these guys on Dominic's birthday, and since the train wasn't running on time - we missed our lunch reservations and had to go with PLAN B! After having lunch at Blossom Du Jour, we went into the craziness of TIMES SQUARE! Holy Crap - that place gets sooooo BUSY! We were walking around like a bunch of squished sardines! We managed to do some more shopping, check out a Christmas Market, and sip on some Hot Apple Cider! I had adjusted our dinner reservations to be slightly later and gave these guy a slightly more lengthy break back in our room. We then headed to a delicious dinner at Candle 79, and finally came back to the hotel and we were all quite pooped and ready for bed! Back to today - I think I have a few Zombies on my hands with these guys! Anyhow, this is Dave's last day with us (he goes back to California late tonight). Time to run out and have some more fun!! See ya later :) -T |
