Pet Travel & Self PamperingGood day!! How is your week going? Hanging in there? I will tell you, while I prefer a nice, 60-degree day, I'm fine with the New York cold so long as it's sunny out! And here we are today with a beautiful, bright Wednesday! As you know Wednesday is the day here at Travelin' Cousins when we feature places and sites for Where to Go locally. Today, I thought I'd take a slightly different approach. While it's not actually a "sight" to visit, Kennedy Airport in New York is a place that will facilitate your travel and what they are planning will be music to the ears of thousands of pet owners who travel with their furry loved ones!! Slated for its grand opening in early 2016, Kennedy Airport will feature the world's first-ever animal terminal! That's right folks! Did you ever think you would live to see such a facility? The word is out that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has entered into a 30-Year lease agreement with an affiliate of real estate Corporation, Racebrook Capital, called Ark Development to design and build a privately-owned 178,000-square-foot animal cargo terminal at JFK International! And appropriately enough, this facility will be called "The Ark." Like any other airport terminal, it will feature comfy lounge areas to sit and relax in its departure lounge along with eateries as well. For dogs and cats, there will be a "Paradise 4 Paws" for boarding, and if that doesn't excited you, how about individual climate-controlled bedrooms for horses and cattle, as well as an onsite vet and an aviary for beloved feathered friends. Now, anyone who has traveled with their pets, know the stress that comes with doing so - I can attest from my parents' years of New York to Florida travel with their two dogs, that flying is trying and disturbing for owners and pets. With more than 50 million people annually passing through Kennedy airport - many with their pets - the $43 million "Ark" terminal is sure to turn things around for man and beast alike! Well yesterday... I went for an amazing facial! It was so relaxing! I bought a package of 12, so I'll be doing a little facial pampering each month throughout the year! Remember, it's important to STOP - BE CALM - AND - FOCUS ON YOU! If you do not take care of you, you are not good for those around you and you will not enjoy the things you do as much!! Here's to a phenomenal day!! -E P.S.: I am addicted to the new Bruno Mars song, Uptown Funk. Check out the video!! UPTOWN FUNK | What type of friend are you?Hi everyone and Happy Hump day to ya! I can't believe that it's already Wednesday! So much to do before we leave on Saturday and I still haven't finished unpacking from the Ski Utah & Tahoe Road Trip!!! Although it is Where to go Wednesday (W2GW); I'd like to give some attention to friendships and give a shoutout to all of my friends that are out there - both new and old. Like the Girl Scout Song goes "Make new friends, but keep the old, one is Silver and the other is Gold" The support of family and friends definitely goes an awful long way. And friends are like the family that you hand picked along the way on your road of life. Here are the 5 Types of Friends Everyone Should Have The Mayo Clinic suggests that: Good friends are also good for your health. Friends can help you celebrate good times and provide support during bad times. Friends prevent loneliness and give you a chance to offer needed companionship, too. Friends can also: -Increase your sense of belonging and purpose -Boost your happiness and reduce your stress -Improve your self-confidence and self-worth -Help you cope with traumas, such as divorce, serious illness, job loss or the death of a loved one -Encourage you to change or avoid unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as excessive drinking or lack of exercise I for one truly believe that we are all here to learn lessons in Life. Some people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Reason, Season, or Lifetime People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty; to provide you with guidance and support; to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on. Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it. It is real. But only for a season. LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. — Unknown And then of course there are Soul Mates - Have you met yours? I bet you only think that there is one type of soul mate out there and that is the person (romantic) who you are destined to be with and spend the rest of your life with... Well in actuality, there are quite a few different types of soul mates, here are a few: Karmic Soulmates - Karmic soulmates come together specifically for the purpose of teaching or working out an issue. Ego Mates - Ego Mates come into our lives when we are still concerned with how we look to others and what others think of us. Companion Mates - Companion Mates probably come closest to the common view of soul mates. And then there are Twin Flames or Twin Souls - Your Twin Flame, sometimes called your Soul Twin, is literally the other half of your soul. READ MORE ABOUT SOUL MATES HERE I'm not a collector of friends, you won't go on my FaceBook or Myspace page and see some astronomical number of people I may or may not have never even met! I happen to be a very selective person, and I have been blessed in life to have had all types of friends, and if you are one of them know that I consider myself lucky to have found you! Peace, Love and Blessings! I'm outta here, -T |
