Oh me oh my. I've been a bad bad bad blogger! I've been totally MIA on here. In case you are wondering where the heck in hecksville that I've been - I've been busy in my office (kitchen) working overtime. Plus tomorrow is Dominic's birthday - so I'll be back at it yet again! It's been said that I'm a slave driver - to myself. And you know what to be quite honest...that's pretty much the whole truth. Luckily I have the energy and the stamina because I can get a bit crazy with the amount of things that I put on myself and manage to pull off. On Thanksgiving morning, I was up and in the kitchen in full gear by 5:30am and that was after working myself to the bone the night before (for real - I was seriously exhausted and needed to sleep). Now to share with you a few pictures from Thanksgiving - which was all kind of a blur! LOL Being that we just don't eat early meals in my family, we have a bunch course to hold us over until the main course is served. BRUNCH consisted of a Fennel and Arugula Salad with fried capers and a lemon dijon vinaigrette, Tomato and Olive Farinata, Crispy Maple Tempeh "Bacon" and Pumpkin Bread with a vanilla cream spread. And then there was our 16 item MAIN COURSE. After a bit of a break some of the fam somehow actually had room for dessert which was a Lemon Pistachio Loaf, Blueberry Crisp, Pecan Pie and a Decadent Chocolate French Silk Pie. Yes we were full and had left overs for DAYS!! Signing off now. Until next time. -Travelin' Tanya | Happy Saturday!! Wow I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Mine was super relaxing and VERY yummy! Normally I enjoy the rain, which was predicted for Thursday, but when the sun showed up and made the day bright, I was all smiles!! On a food note, I managed to finish all of my Thanksgiving Day cooking Wednesday night. As it turns out, I wound up doing all of it solo. Gianna was hanging out with Tyler all evening and Kelsey was doing her own thing in her room. I actually had fun. I moved at a very manageable pace, all while listening to my favorite Frank Sinatra tunes. When it comes to the baking, Gianna took full control of making the chocolate cupcakes and the Linzer tarts. Let’s take a look the completed dishes!! We started off the day with some homemade pumpkin crescent rolls - complements of Gianna!! We took a break before eating some dessert - I was surprised how simple the Linzer Tarts were to make! The rest of the day was just a great deal of relaxing. I actually started watching a new series. If you can imagine, I never watched Downton Abbey when it was originally on television, but, like most other shows, I always manager to watch them after the fact lol. Needless to say, his is my new binge! So far, I'm LOVIN' it!! See ya soon!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
