Hello everyone!

Travelin' Tanya here again to bring you some more Poland vacation highlights...

Once again we found ourselves waking up at The Imperial Hotel located right in the heart of Krakow all with views from our bed of the Town Hall Tower.

What an absolutely awesome location!

But boy am I quite glad that I stuck to my planned agenda/schedule and therefore having already taken so many pictures of this great Polish city.
Because as you'll see today was quite overcast/rainy and the lighting just wasn't at all that great.

Strange as it is, some of the local restaurants that serve breakfast don't open until 10am!

Soooo of course I need to fill in the earlier part of the morning with things to do and although this morning it was all about St. Mary's - which you may or may not recall being one of my very favorite cathedrals from around the world.

The first stop would be to take a few pics of the giant Head - ‘Eros Bendato’ (Eros Bound), the work of Polish artist Igor Mitoraj.
Picture

SIDE NOTE: From the moment we arrived, I knew of this sculpture. But I just could not put my finger on what city I had seen it before. I knew that it was while traveling with the kids and I could picture it - but I just could not put my finger on it until today.

We had come across this sculpture in 2013 while touring Lugano, Switzerland.

BACK TO KRAKOW...
Upon arriving to the St. Mary's ticket window we found out that the church didn't open until 11:30a.

Weird if you ask me.

What was open however was the Straży Tower – the only tower in the world from which a trumpeter has played the Heynal (bugle call) every hour throughout the entire day for over six hundred years!

We all know that I have climbed many a tower to catch a view, but I honestly don't recall climbing this one during my  2015 visit to this cathedral.

So this would be a first time (I think - lol); Dave and I climbed the 239 steps to the top and were rewarded with amazing views of the city and the surrounding hills in the background.
It was well worth it and we stayed up there longer than most with all the different views, camera angles, etc that I had to take.

The only thing that would've made this eye candy any sweeter would've been those beautiful blue skies that we have become accustom to!

Then we were off to go eat breakfast back at my new favorite - Veganic.
Since we ate 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners there, we were starting to get to know the servers. And today the server (who we also had last night) had asked me if he could ask me a question...

He wanted to know if he's seen me in the movies!
Well, maybe but that would've been before his time. Unless Krakow shows a lot of reruns! LOL

I suggested that perhaps he's seen my picture online and he believes that he did in fact know me from either or.   Could be!
HECK I am....Famous in Peru!

Anyhow it was time to do a bit more shopping before loading up the car and driving about 3 hours to Wroclaw.

At first the weather was all rainy and the pictures were coming out useless. But once the rain had let up, I had snapped away regardless of the sucky lighting.

Eventually having a yummy dinner right there in the heart of the Old Market Square. And strolling afterwards in hunt of some famous little fellas that are all over Wroclaw. GNOMES.
And from what I've been told - there are now over 500 of these little statues.

We even bought a map to show us where they are heading in plain sight. The map only goes up to 212, sounds like they might need to update the publication! LOL

But the night was still young and so I wanted to continue strolling. We made our way to Cathedral Island, the back to the Market Square capturing some great evening lighting. WHEW!

Then poor Dave's feet and legs were getting all sorts of tired. I calculated the milage that we've been walking since our arrival - as of today we are up to 51 miles and we are so much more to go!

On that note I'll do just that...go
