Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: BRECKENRIDGE, COLORADO
Pump up the Jam with some Fire and Ice
It's a SNOWY SUNDAY here in Breckenridge!
We are excited to get out there and float on all of the powder that's been falling since yesterday!
Speaking of yesterday, boy were we glad that the winds weren't an issue (as they were on Friday).
We marched out there (to the slopes) like a bunch of astronauts! Yup that's what I feel like when I walking about in all of my gear. It's quite funny when you think about it. There was even a guy who made a comment a few days ago that when he sees skiers walk by, he can't help but hear the 'Imperial March' theme music for Darth Vader and started humming it as we walked past him!
Out on the runs we pretty much managed to avoid most of the Saturday crowds and hit plenty of fun pistes, skiing on the silky smooth freshly laid snow was just so enjoyable!
And from here, I'll let the pictures do the talking:
Cosette is chilling out & relaxing downslope
A silly moment in line.
Here comes Birdwald (in the background)
The plan after our day on the slopes was to head into town and check out a few of the events happening or maybe I should say the happening events!
Time for the International Snow Sculpture Championships
First up was checking out the creative and artistic snow sculptures at the International Snow Sculpture Championship, where 16 teams from around the globe competed in carving a 20-ton, 12 foot-tall block of snow without the use of power tools, internal support structures, or colorants. We then headed to the opposite extreme...
Onward to the second Fire Arts Festival which is a multi-day exhibition featuring burning sculptures, fiery performances, pyrotechnical effects, and other spark-filled attractions!
With a live DJ and the music pumping, it was a party waiting to happen and we definitely got into the groove of having a good time.
And lest we forget about shopping?! NEVER - once we were ready to head on over to Main Street - we got our shopping on!
And Dave will be showing off one of the purchases on the slopes today...don't miss it in tomorrows Daily Scoop!
And that my friends is how we spent our Saturday!
Next Saturday we'll be in Quebec City!!!
Lots coming up, be sure not to miss a beat and subscribe to this page!
Well I'm off to enjoy our last full day here in Colorado. Tomorrow we fly back to SoCal.

New York Mets 2016 Season Announced!
Happy Sunday Everyone! Woke up to a lovely sunny day here on Long Island!!
I don't have much of an exciting day, but it is what it is. However, I have some fun stuff planned for the upcoming week.
I'll be heading out to do some food shopping for the week to come. I usually like to plan out my meals in advance and then purchase all my necessities. It really makes for more economical shopping.
Today, being that it's Sunday, will be a big Pasta dinner for me and the girls. I'll be cooking a big pot of tomato sauce along with meatballs for our little threesome.
Hey, I forgot to show you the great photo I was able to take of CitiField, home of the New York Mets, during my little excursion to Queens the other day.
After leaving the Louis Armstrong House, I drove down the main road (at the corner of the House's block) and as I approached the end, I had the most incredible head-on view of CitiField!
I had to share this with you!!
I love how it looks surrounded by all the snow.
Well, now that I'm on the topic of the NY Mets and baseball, it made me long for the Spring, when baseball season starts.
Just this past Tuesday, the Amazing Mets announced their 2016 Schedule! The season will open April 4 at the Kansas City Royals.
The Home Game opener will be April 8th, when they will play against the Philadelphia Phillies.
As per usual, there will be a Subway Series, between New York's two teams - The Mets and The Yankees and that will be Aug. 1-4, with the first two games in Queens at Citi Field, then two more in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium.
Time to get yer tickets folks!!
Can you believe the first week of February is only 1 day away!!
New week, new month. I will be heading back to Queens to visit the Lewis H. Latimer House on Wednesday. I cannot tell you how much I am loving these local travel visits!!
Currently working on my Black History Month story featuring the museums of two great Black Americans - Louis Armstrong and Lewis Lattimer. Expect to have it completed by weeks' end.
Well, that's a wrap for today folks!! Please read all about Tanya's ongoing ski adventures in Colorado!!! <<<--<<<--<<<--<<<--<<<--<<<--<<< Hope your Sunday is special!!
