I need to tell you about my evening last night. It was pretty much a rainy day all yesterday here on Long Island.

With both kids home from school yesterday, I stayed home all day and basically just cooked.
I made a comforting Banana bread, lentil soup and a terrific dinner -- Mojo Chicken with orange-infused black beans.

The girls were also gearing up for their Halloween show this coming Sunday, making their costumes for their horsies.

So proud of them for their enthusiasm and hard work!!!

The weather report is looking good for the weekend. Now, while the show is on Sunday, the girls will also go for a short riding lesson tomorrow as well. We'll have a busy weekend out East!

Woo to the Hoo - The weekend is here!

Whether or not we are ready for them, the holidays are upon us. And I L-O-V-E the holiday season!!

SEDONA

Our "planned" last trip before the BIG holidays hit is going to Sedona and Scottsdale, Arizona.
Having been there a number of times, we love exploring the Red Rock Country - hiking is a must!

But one thing that also should not be missed is taking a rough and tumble Jeep Ride. And while I may not have already had it on our itinerary, Cosette had asked me about it yesterday...
We were scanning photos from some of our previous visits and got the giggles when we came across the ones from past jeep rides.

It sure is a blast of fun to be bouncing around while off-roading in the back country of Sedona!
Bouncing up and down is a sure way to get me to laugh...

So needless to say that I'll be booking one of these tours for us to go on another chuckle fest (laugh-a-thon).

Definite good times to look forward to!

Last night Dominic had a costume party that we attended. And it's always so funny seeing people dress up and get into character!

Today will be a stables day for me and Cosette. Time to go visit Dream. It's a bit gray out and looks like rain, but The Weather Channel seems to think that the rain we were expecting is now not coming at all. We shall see.
Hopefully the cooler temps have at least warded off those darn flies.

Aside from that, I've got some shopping to do, and I'll be hitting the gym.

And although today is FOODIE FRIDAY, we'll be getting our appetite on tomorrow at the SoCal VegFest!

But in the meantime here are some RIDICULOUSLY good sandwiches from The Butcher's Son that might actually warrant a soon to be (unplanned) trip back to SF and Oakland just to go satisfy my tastebuds! DROOL DROOL DROOL
