Elisa's Daily ScoopTips for Shopping for AirfareGood day my peeps!! I hope your day is going as well as you had hoped! For all you Shopping lovers, I have an interesting focus today. Did you ever wonder when the best time is to purchase airline tickets? I mean, who doesn't like to get the best possible fares? According to Rick Seany, airfare expert, and FareCompare, here are the facts that will hopefully help you purchase your tickets at the right time, and at the best price: * Best Time to Book: Tuesday at 3:00pm Eastern time. Why? Tuesdays are when the airlines "release the most sales and the best time to book plane tickets," according to Seany. Therefore, giving consumers the best possible access to outstanding deals. * Best Time-Frame to Shop Procrastination is not a good thing when shopping for or booking travel. Depending on whether you are traveling Domestically or Internationally, here is the time-frame you should keep in mind if you are hoping for the best airfare prices: > Domestic Fares (U.S.): purchase between three months and 30 days before departure. > International Fares: purchase between 5-1/2 months and 1-1/2 months before departure. * Cheapest Days and Times to Fly While these days may not always be the most convenient for school and work schedules, they are the days when you will find the best possible airfare prices: > Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays > Times: When people normally do not want to Fly, such as the red-eye and overnight flights and those at dawn and dinnertime. * Most Expensive Days to Fly Friday and Sundays, which of course, are, in general, the most convenient days for most leisure travelers. * Great Tricks When Booking Airfare Here's a little helpful hint. When shopping and booking airfare, shop one passenger at a time. The reason is that the airline system will find the cheapest flight when searching for one. If you input more than one, and the inventory shows one ticket at a low fare and many at a higher fare, the system will grab the fare that is higher. Also, sign up for price alerts with online booking services like TripAdvisor and FareCompare as they will send you an email when the fares have dropped. I really hope this information is helpful to you when booking your next travel adventure!! For Rick Seany's complete article, CLICK HERE. We are in week 6 of 2015 and I'm on my 3rd vacation and 24th vacation day! Not too shabby! Dave and I arrived here last night and woke up in Denver this morning! I'm pretty darn excited to see Bode Miller and Tedd Ligety come flying down the mountain in the Birds of Prey Racecourse at Beaver Creek!!! Yippie! Of course I've got my freshly waxed skis with me and we'll also be hitting the slopes while we are here! How could I not?! So after a short week that was filled with much to do, I was very happily productive and got every last thing accomplished before heading back to LAX (in rush hour) last night. The flight was just a wee bit bumpy, and we ate our yummy dinner (picked up from Freesoul Caffe) during the short 2hr flight. One thing that I've got to admit kind of missing during my recent flights has been flipping through the SkyMall catalog. Not that I usually bought anything - and I guess that was the problem over-all. But I miss it none-the-less. Just in case you were as unaware as I was...
