4 Great Books for Travelers
Hey there guys!!
Wow - is it a gorgeous Fall day here on Long Island! Beautiful sunshine, cool breeze and just lovely temps outdoors. Me and the girlies left early as we have a potential buyer doing an inspection on our house today. I'm staying positive that everything goes well, as this could be a wonderful new beginning if the sale happens!
As a result we are hanging out in town, at our favorite outdoor seating area at Starbucks, enjoying a bite to eat and each of us on our respective devices lol. Ahh - modern technology!
I had to drop Punkin off at "Aunt Cathy's" at JoMar Grooming as she gets stressed out sitting outside with us, with the noises and people. Yes, this little girl is a nervous Nelly! With today being "Shopping Saturday" here on Travelin' Cousins, I would share a four books that I recommend as good reads either at home or while traveling! Here we go... 1. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz One of Tanya and my favorites!!
2. 1,000 Places to See in the United States and Canada Before You Die
by Workman Publishing North America has so many places to see and experience. This book will help you create that all-important bucket list.
3. Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert
Whether you've seen the movie version of this book starring Julia Roberts or not, this book will have you engrossed as the author shares her fascinating story as she traverses three different places as she embarks on self-discovery.
4. Elephant Dawn: The Inspirational Story of Thirteen Years Living with Elephants in the African Wilderness
by Sharon Pincott I will not lie, as of yet, I have not read this book but it's on my "must read" list! It is the story of Sharon Pincott, who gave up her corporate executive career life to start a new one with the Presidential Elephants of Zimbabwe. Spending thirteen years - the worst in Zimbabwe's volatile history - living in the Hwange bush fighting for the lives of these elephants, forming an extraordinary and life-changing bond with them. Wow!!!
Have you been keeping up with Tanya and her Hawaii Adventures? I'm loving her gorgeous pictures!!
So, I'm off to get a few errands done while I'm banished from the house! See ya back tomorrow!! -E xoxo |
Beach Hopping in Maui
Greetings from Maui!
I'm sitting out here on our balcony once again and still enjoying the amazing view. It is a tad more breezy out today, but I am throughly enjoying every bit of it!
I figured that I'd bop on and share some photos with you while I'm waiting on the gang to be ready to head out the door and on the Road to Hana! We've actually been doing quite a bit more driving than I'm accustom to here on Maui. Our guests - Jet, Andrew and Chaplin are excited about seeing ALL of the oh so many beautiful beaches!! LOL So we bop around from beach to beach and they hop around in the surf while I either run from it or snap away. And being that the resort was having a Hula Lesson yesterday morning, we had opted to hang out and enjoy the accommodations while we waited to shake our hips at our attempts at the Hula.
There was also Koi Fish Feeding (Frenzy!) and a Water Balloon toss that we participated in.
After all was said and done, we were off to Kihei and Wailea...
Okay, the gang is just about ready so I'm gonna sign off.
