Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: St. Kitts
Happy Friday Everyone!
I hope everyone has had a terrific week and that your weekend plans are even better!
Of course you know that I've been Travelin' and keeping quite busy, but the funny thing is that the time has gone by rather slowly - I guess maybe everything switches to island time when you're out here!
And wifi has been difficult at best. Know that I'm trying my darnedest to keep you posted and keep things LIVE!
All the missing pictures...and there are LOTS, will be posted and updated once I return back to the States. I'll follow up with links for you to follow once they are posted.
St Lucia was such a joy!
We had a fabulous time visiting and touring the island of St Lucia.
To tell you the truth, I actually knew from the moment our ship pulled near the volcanic island and we pulled our curtains open to the amazing view off of our balcony that I was a big BIG fan!
She is very beautiful and has most definitely become my favorite Caribbean island so far!
DID YOU KNOW: In a period of 150 years the island of St Lucia was ruled back and forth by the French and the English (7 times each). They finally gained their independence on Feb 22 1979.
Being in St Lucia one thing you'll notice is a difference in the color of the sand on the island. When in the south you'll find grey sand because of the volcano and to the north you'll find the famous white sand.
While on tour we were able to sample some of the locally made banana ketchup and banana BBQ sauce - finger licking good!
Had some creole bread which dang good and I really wish I had more of... I had some Tamarind juice which was rather tasty, Dave had tried the Passion Fruit juice which he enjoyed (but mine was better!)
And we even sucked on some sweet sugar cane.
We drove into the Edmunds reserve rainforest, visited the very very STINKY "drive in volcano" (the only one of its kind) at Sulphur Springs. Which btw last erupted in 1766.
And how do I end up at all of these sulphur /volcanic hot spots in a year???
I think I'm in need a pair of nose plugs for my poor abused sniffer!
And then as for Today we have yet another new island for me to explore & one that is often regarded as the jewel of the Caribbean.
St. Kitts in the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean.

This morning was a nice change since I was able to sleep in a bit. Instead of the usual rush to get lunch ready, load up the car with horseback riding equipment, and get the kids going, I woke up leisurely and left the girls to sleep late.
Since I'm back in Nassau today, I packed up my laptop and headed over to my "office" (Starbucks) to do today's writing.

I was so psyched to see that two of my favorites made the list!! Ink48 in Midtown West (Hell's Kitchen) and Ganesvoort Meatpacking NYC in the West Village (Meat packing district).
The Press Lounge in Ink 48 has become a one of the most popular rooftop bars in New York City, since opening in April 2010. It features a wrap-around terrace, indoor seating, a reflecting pool, and even a hot tub!
The lounge is open year-round from Wednesday through Saturday. And don't worry about getting there early - it stays open until 2 AM!
Plunge in Ganesvoort Meatpacking NYC on the 15th Floor boasts an incredible 360-degree view of the city and the Hudson River. While the crowd is predominantly twenty- and thirty-somethings, there is a mix of age groups drawn to this hot bar.
