Elisa's Daily Scoop1 More day till Jackson Hole!Hey there!! Are you ready for the weekend?! I am so excited - one more day till I leave for Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the start of our Cousin's Yellowstone Road Trip !! With today being the day before vacation, I'm happy to report that everything is packed and ready to go!! I had an amazingly successful and productive week and so pleased that I can just focus today on the all-important event of the day - The Father-Daughter Dance! Yesterday afternoon, I spent a few hours with the rest of the Dance committee setting up for tonight. All I can say is that the gym looked fabulous by the time we left!! Kudos to Denise and her co-chair, Regina for a fabulous job for this year's dance!! As I was sitting down to write my Daily today, I received an email from Marianne over at the barn, who is the official photographer (among other important things!) at Dream Come True Farm. Here is a picture of Kelsey on Buddy! She did a great job cantering this past weekend!! Way to go Kelsey and a big thank you to Marianne for keeping the pictures coming each week!! This morning, I'm heading over to the dry cleaners sand the florist -- have to pick up Gianna and Kelsey's dresses for tonight - both were pressed and Gianna's required a slight alteration. Then directly across the street I will order corsages for the girls - including Madison, Denise's daughter. I'm going to try to match their dresses and wrap each with gold ribbon to go with the "Red Carpet" theme! Other than that, I just have a few quick stops - bank; and pick up an extra camera card for vacay. Ok folks - back with ya tomorrow as I head to the airport to catch our flight to Jackson Hole to meet up with Tanya, Cosette and Dominic! Here's to a great Friday!! AND DON'T FORGET TO CATCH TANYA'S FOODIE FRIDAY FEATURE!! ---->>>>---->>>>---->>>> -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopIn PortlandiaHelloooo Friday! Can you believe that it's already Friday?! I can't, but then again while I'm on vacation I can never tell what day it is! Anyhoo... Today is a very special Friday! Not only is it Foodie Friday, but we have a special treat for you this week. Guest writer and teen correspondent Gigi Balsamico brought us the Foodie Scoop from The Double Wide Grill in Pittsburgh. Read all about it right HERE Aside from all the great food, what's pretty cool about the DWG is that I ate there back in 2008 while doing a MLB Baseball Road Trip! And I'll be eating there once again and trying out some additional menu items in July, when I'm traveling through Pittsburgh with Dave and Dominic on our way to Cincinnati to see the 86th MLB All Star Game! Yippie!!! And guess who is coming to dinner with us?? If you guessed Gigi, then you got it! Soooo, as you know I'm still on and throughly enjoying our road trip! Today, I'm greeting you from the city of Portland, Oregon. We've been doing our fair share of sightseeing and doing more than our fair share of eating! The beginning of the road trip is definitely a Vegan Foodie's Paradise! Luckily Dominic and I are still keeping up with our 100 Day Fitness Challenge even while we are away! Heck we gotta burn some of the massive amounts of calories that we are totally indulging in and will continue to do so today!!! Before leaving Salem yesterday and heading to Portland, we went to see the State Capitol. This Oregon State Capitol is actually the third State Capitol location in the state of Oregon and the Art Deco, stripped classical designed building was completed in 1938, making it the fourth-newest capitol in the United States! It was pretty cool! Once arriving to Portland, the kids and I went to brunch at A.N.D. Cafe - t'was yummy! At the end of this trip in addition to any Foodie Friday reviews that I'll be posting, I'll also be posting a Oregon Eats and Treats Page with lots and lots of pictures!! Next up, we took to the streets of Portland and to Washington Park. We got more than our full of people watching and then went to go eat again! This time we went for some vegan Sushi at the Sushi Love Food Truck! Time to go unload and check in at our hotel and the kiddies were eager to hit the pool! And then it was time to eat AGAIN... I opted for us to go have dessert before dinner, and we headed to Back to Eden Bakery. The kids were totally overwhelmed with all of the choices and eventually we chose 2 ice cream sundaes and one mini Maple Pecan Pie. All AMAZING! Time for us to go explore some more and to go EAT! I wish you all the best, and I'll meet you back here tomorrow! -T |
