Throwback Travel ReminiscingGood day to you! So, before I go any further, let me say that I had to keep Gianna home from school today because she has a bad sore throat. She started complaining last night, but I thought maybe with a little rest, she would wake up okay. Well, that didn't happen. I'm going to see how she progresses throughout the day and in the worst case, I'll run over to the doctor just to make sure we are not dealing with strep. Last year was a great year - no illnesses for any of us. Gonna keep the faith that our good fortune continues throughout this school year. Throwback Thursday is really one of my favorite days. I so enjoy sharing my travel stories from back in the day and revisiting those wonderful and often funny memories. But, since Tanya and I alternate and take turns blogging the Throwback Thursday blog, today we will be hearing from my dear cousin. Can't wait! I have to admit, the only thing I enjoy more than telling you about my past travel adventures, is to read all about Tanya's. If you have read Our Story, you know that there was a 30+ year gap in our relationship. As a result, every Throwback Thursday story each of us writes is not only the first time you, our valued followers hear, but also, in most cases, a way to relive with each other all those experiences we weren't able to share at the time. So, you could say that blogging enables us to fill in those gaps and strengthen our cousin bond. How about some fun throwback travel reminiscing today?? Okay, so I'm dating myself, but back in the early '90's when I regularly traveled to Hong Kong for business, the planes still had an upper floor. The layouts and the configurations varied from a "row style" and a "round" upstairs, but in both cases, there was a real distinction in so many ways from economy. Check out how people flew first class in the 1970's on 747's. I have to say, this is way cool - wouldn't you agree?? Check out MessyNessy's article Let's Reminisce over Airplanes that had Piano Bars, Cocktail Lounges, Pubs and Restaurants. I think we'd all agree that air travel has gotten more safe and that safety is top of mind, but I don't know about you, I would love to experience this "cocktail party in the sky" atmosphere of travel just once! Hope you have a fabulous day - see you back tomorrow when I'll be blogging Foodie Friday about Spuntino Wine Bar & Tapas. -E | Is it already Thursday?!Hey Hey Hey! It's Throwback Thursday! What a fun day to share past travel stories, pictures, and experiences with you! So, we went to the Katy Perry concert last night and speaking of throwbacks, the friend who I mentioned was in town is actually working on the concert. I've known him for over 20 years, we usually keep in really good contact.. but this time around I haven't seen him is about 3 years! UGH And last night was an extra special treat for us to get to hang out. It was brief, but certainly great to see him, and I hope that we can get together again before he leaves town. We had lots of fun at the concert, as Katy Perry put on a great show! The kids and I were singing and bopping along and then even Dave B. got into the action and got up to dance some of the retro jams that were being played! It was a hoot!! To follow up on what I still had left to do for the upcoming Road Trip, I almost forgot to mention that we got all of Dave's tickets for the trip. As he will be meeting us out there in Albuquerque for the first weekend, and then again on the last Friday to continue the rest of the way of the extended version on the Road Trip once Elisa and the girlies head back home to NY. Today will be full of chores, and errands, but the temps have gone down (ever so slightly) and we have fixed the A/C in the house! Thanks to my little sissy poo Brigitte!! Because, we were sure burning up in this house with the crazy late summer that has hit with a vengeance...even Katy Perry had commented last night about this awful heat in the middle of September here in SoCal. I'm gonna finish up the Throwback Thursday story for ya! Don't forget to check back here later today! Then I'll meet you back here at the same time same place tomorrow for all the new updates and scoop on The Daily! Ciao 4 now, -T |
