HEY!! Is it really Friday? Wow - this has been a non-stop, nutty week - both kids home - one with a bad back and the other with a bad cold. And I have been playing Florence Nightingale, head chef and errand runner!
The good news is, they have each kept up with their homework and kept in touch with their teachers, so they are completely up-to-date with assignments. The "not-so-good" news is that I've been the errand girl running back and forth to their school to drop off assignments and pick up books.
Actually, I'm just grateful that my daughters are such diligent students, so I'm not bothered at all!
KELSEY & GIANNA BACK IN DECEMBER (2016) AT SPUNTINO WINE BAR - ONE OF OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS FOR ITALIAN TAPAS (c) travelincousins.com
Well, today is, in fact, Foodie Friday and while I haven't been to any great restaurants lately, I'm thinking about a few foodie memories that are making my mouth water!
Spuntino Wine Bar in Garden City is up there for me and the girls as one of our favorite eateries!! We dine here whenever possible.
In fact, we spent my birthday here this past October (2016).
Today happens to be a really wet, rainy and all around icky day. Funny thing, speaking of food and travel - it reminds me of the day we set off for our Lancaster, Pennsylvania trip back in October, 2002 with my Mom and Dad.
Now that was a super fun trip! Click the link for the full story, but here are a few of the fun and food memories!!!

Ireland on my mind... I've shared with you for the past two weeks, my little obsession with Ireland - sometimes I get on these destination kicks where I can't stop thinking of a place and then it's like the universe is in line with it and the law of attraction sets in ... all week I have either received articles or "happened" to find different bits of information about all things Irish and Ireland. Ahh - I cannot wait to get another Ireland trip on the calendar - and you'll be the first to know.
Back to nursing my girlies - hope it's a great start to a weekend for ya!!
Tanya's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 6 DAYS
What distracts you?
Friday is here! And with less than a week before my next trip I have plenty-o stuff to accomplish around the home-front.
But like many - I get easily distracted with things I prefer doing...like trip planning! LOL
So while this weekend will be filled with 2 performances for the kids. One on Saturday at the Aquarium of the Pacific and one on Sunday for the JHV (Justice for Homicide Victims) and National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
The weekend will also be filled with much to do...
I've yet to find the perfect Easter wardrobe for our annual Easter family photo. Plus I've also got to get out there and see what other Easter goodies I can get my hands on - being that I am the Easter bunny's assistant!
We'll also be going to see the new King Kong movie on Sunday. Dave C and Dominic were hoping to go see it while Cosette and I were out of town, but we told them to wait for us and so they did. I hope it will be worth the wait!
And then there is also always some sort of planning going on and this week it seems that I've been tying up some of our flight bookings for our BIG Summer Trip (back east and then some).
Working on the Hawaii details and the Portland details.
Plus, I also have jumped right into the day-to-day planning of our later summer road trip that will take us up to Idaho and within an arms length of the Canadian border.
We are hoping that Jet, Andrew, and Chaplin come along (cross your fingers).
I've been putting together a trip itinerary to tempt my (less traveled) sister and found some really great airfares for them to fly back from Portland before we continue up to Idaho and to meet the rest of the choir. But my dear sister seems to have some commitment issues and was getting a bit stressed out at the thought of having to make a decision that is 5 months out...
It's amazing how different we can be.
We all know that if I only had 5 months to plan a trip - I think I'd be getting all stressed out about it, most of my trips are planned out 1-2 years in advance and that always gives me places to go and things to look forward to!
And then we have today - which will be filled with the early stages of changing out our winter for summer wardrobes, beginning to put together some of our attire for the upcoming London trip, I'll be hitting the gym to get my sweat on, and then Dave and I have an important IPC Board meeting to attend, which will immediately be followed by an IPC travel meeting.
Lastly being that it is FOODIE FRIDAY - let me get your juices flowing with some of the great foods that we've been eating:
A DELISH Pesto roll and a Breakfast roll from Timeless Coffee in Oakland, Ca (c)travelincousins.com
Tofu Scaloppine from Sanctuary Bistro in Berkeley, Ca (c) travelincousins.com
Chocolate and Cream Crepe from Passion Flour in Salt Lake City, Utah (c) travelincousins.com
Fried Ravioli from Donna Jean in San Diego, Ca (c) travelincousins.com
Wow looking at all this yummy food makes me want to plan the dining options for my upcoming travels!
