Tanya's Daily ScoopWelcome to a New Week!Howdy y'all! It's another Monday... Can you believe that we are already in the second week of May!! Crazy stuff! Didn't 2015 just start? I know that's how I feel. But in all actuality I suppose if I were to think about it and all that I've done already... I've already done and gone more places than most people will all year. So I guess now my perspective is different and I can say "Wow, is it only the second week of May?!" As most of you know, I've just returned yesterday from a 10 day über fun road trip! We put on another 2,000+ miles and went to some amazing places that seriously had us awestruck! I'll be posting a travel article on the trip and plenty of pics in my photo gallery for you to enjoy. Just like Elisa, I love and am so happy to share our trips and our lives with you and we both really appreciate that you are reading and following us! Can you believe that we've been sharing with you each and everyday for the past year?! We are looking very forward to continuing to share our lives and adventures with you for years to come! And if at any time you have any questions about us, a trip or need any assistance in planning your own trips - don't hesitate to contact us - we love helping fellow travelers get out there and make the most of their time!! Soooo, did everyone have a pleasant Mother's Day? Mine was spent waking up in Las Vegas and spending the morning enjoying the Wynn Resort (breakfast, etc), next was our MUST STOP at Ronald's Donuts before hitting the highway and the drive back to Orange County. All seemed to be going well, and then we heard sirens - I jokingly teased Dave that they "finally" found him! And then next thing ya know is that he was really getting pulled over! The officer was pleasant and explained the dangers of... Taking pictures while you drive and all of the deaths that occur on the I15 each year. And how getting a ticket should be the least of his concern! Anyhow, Dave got away with only a warning this time... And the officer had explained to Dave that I could easily press a button and take the pictures for him. I had also noted that another option would be that I could drive and then he could safely take his photos - but he doesn't like my driving! And away we went on our second attempt to Leave Las Vegas... What is normally a 3.5hr drive took 5hrs with the several traffic pockets that we hit along the way. Once we arrived back home, there was no time to waste and after a few hugs we were back on the road again, heading to the Irvine Spectrum (where we would eventually have a Japanese dinner). Everyone had thoroughly enjoyed the meal - which is very important to me and so difficult to achieve when eating out with all of the various eating restrictions and lack there of. I can already tell that Kabuki Japanese Restaurant is gonna be our go to when we have a big hungry group to feed! As far as today goes, aside from unwinding from our travels and prepping for the next....we embark in 4 days! (But it's only for a weekender - find out more on Travelin' Tuesday.) Btw - I have my own set of categorizing Vacations - which I'll also share with you tomorrow on Travelin' Tuesday!! Don't miss out! And be sure to check up on how Elisa spent her Mother's Day with the family. I just love the picture of her and Rebecca and how they are coordinating. You know how much I enjoy a well coordinated picture... Though I think that Elisa and Rebecca coordinating was just a happy accident! I've gotta go shopping and fill the cabinets, then I'm heading over to Downtown Disney with Jet and Chaplin on her very first visit to Build-a-Bear! And tonight while the kids are in their choir rehearsal, I'll be stuck in a board meeting... Fun stuff I know, you don't have to be jealous! LOL And that about sums up my Monday for ya. See ya back here tomorrow for Travelin' Tuesday and a look at what's to come on the horizon of Travel for the Travelin' Cousins! -T | Elisa's Daily ScoopNew Week, New YearHi there!! Today is not only the first day of a new week, but it is the first day of Year 2 of our blog!! Still finding it hard to believe that we have been bloggin' for a year! I have never enjoyed doing something as much as I enjoy sharing each day with you! I'm sure Tanya would agree, that it's a super feeling when we are writing from one of our trips. However, telling you about what is going on each day in our lives - whether it is planning a trip, talking about some great place on our bucket list or just the daily happenings at home - it's wonderful to know you are there reading all about it!! I really ate way too much this weekend!! Between going out to Greenwich Village on Saturday night for Tapas & Paella and yesterday, having a huge Italian Meal for Mother's Day -- this is going to be a healthy eating and exercising week for your's truly!!! Well, just a little food reminiscing about yesterday - One of the restaurants in town, that I have been frequenting for a number of year, Calogeros, recently went through a major expansion. I decided to make reservations here for Mother's Day and I'm so happy I did! The meal was terrific! Usually, on major holidays with a pre-fixe menu, the food is "iffy." The kitchen is preparing lots of food for lots of people, and I've found that the meals are usually not that great But, everyone's food was cooked and prepared exactly to the specifications requested and expected. I had a delicious mixed green salad, followed by Penne a la Vodka and finished off the meal with a phenomenal tiramisu! Of course, I didn't mention that I had 3 pieces of the freshest bread with basil-infused olive oil before beginning my meal! Stay tuned, because I'll be doing a review for my next Foodie Friday feature. So what's new for this week? Well, tomorrow is Travelin' Tuesday and Tanya and I will be getting into some detail about the specific SIGHTS on our Eastern Europe trip, which is only a little over a month away! I'll be bringing you Throwback Thursday with a fun trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania from ten years ago and Tanya will be up at bat for Foodie Friday. Speaking of Foodie Friday -- apologies for posting my article about Rancho de Chimayo in Chimayo, New Mexico, so late!!! CLICK HERE to read more!! As far as traveling news goes, I have become rather obsessed with the idea of fitting in another trip to Italy during the next year. This trip would be to Southern Italy - specifically to the two areas where my family originated from -- Calabria & Taormina, Sicily. I will be talking more about these two Italian destinations throughout the week. Just a reminder - as we begin Year 2, we still need your votes - so please continue to click on the Top Mommy Blogger image each day!! ---->>>>--->>> Thanks for being you and checking in with us each day!!! -E xoxo |
