Tanya's Daily Scoop
CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: SEDONA, AZ
What's so great about West Fork anyhow?
I just don't know what the deal is... It's as thought internet issues follow me.
There I was with most of my pics uploaded for the day and about to start typing away when the internet just pooped out on us. Leaving me at a standstill.
Well here I am now and since I already told you all about yesterday - I'm gonna give you today's SCOOP (although I'm not quite sure as to when you are reading this...The SCOOP is for Friday, November 3, 2017).
On today's agenda - as most of our agendas here in Sedona HIKING was on the list of to dos. I was kinda excited about today's hike because:
1. It's one that we've never explored.
2. It's listed as a renowned and most beautiful hike.
3. I've been wanting to do it for at least a year.
4. Everyone raves about it.
Once we were on our way the kids had asked me the distance of the hike and so I told them that it was 6 miles (as that is what I recalled it being). Well that was ENOUGH to cause both kids to get up in arms about how FAR 6 miles was!!! ARE THESE REALLY MY CHILDREN???
I laughed and honestly could not believe that they were serious about thinking 6 miles was some grand distance. I even attempted to reason with them and share with them that we do over 6 miles on any given day at a Disney park. They apparently didn't seem to care - explaining that when we are at a Disney park, they are on a Disney HIGH!
We continued to the trailhead parking lot, only to be faced with a full lot and a line of vehicles waiting to gain access. And so we waited along with the rest of them.
But the end result was no more impressive then the rest of the trail.
My Sedona classic climb of Bell Rock is WAAAAAY nice than this ho hum nonsense.
I'm glad we did it, only because I got to scratch that itch. But you won't catch me hiking there ever again. And I won't EVEN mention how much Cosette thought the entire day was wasted because we did this hike and how we can't get the time back. But I won't go there!
No biggie - I've been there. Done that. And will do it again.
Instead we went into town for a wee bit before making our way back to our resort to unwind.
