Elisa's Daily Scoop Hi there! I'm not sure whats going on with this weather here on Long Island -- it's in the 50's today! Lovely and sunny; but chilly! I really don't mind it - it's quite refreshing. Yesterday was a totally weird weather day here on Long Island. There was sunshine and periods of rain and hail and the day ended with lovely sunshine and lots of wind and a drop in temperatures in the evening. It was also the last Girl Scout meeting for Kelsey's troop for the 2015-16 school year. It’s hard to believe I’ve been a Girl Scout leader since Gianna was in Kindergarden - that’s 7 years of scouting! Now, unfortunately, Gianna’s troop broke up after the 4th grade. But, so far, Kelsey’s is going strong. She complains that she doesn’t like it, but I keep insisting that she stick it out as it’s a great thing to have on her school resume. I also think as they get alittle older, we can do more fun trips and service projects. I will admit, it takes a great deal of effort! Me and my co-leader, Lori put an awful lot of time into it. This year, with all I had going on personally, I am so grateful for her and her commitment to fill in when I had to take care of issues regarding the divorce or other family emergencies. We also received tremendous help and enthusiasm from the girls’ moms. Unfortunately, this year, we were unable to sell cookies - which by the way, brings in a ton of money to the troop for activities and things to do - because we did not have a cookie mom. I’m hoping it will be different next year - we’ll see. A Big Welcome Home to Tanya!!! She's back in The States - well at least for 23 days!! Hope you have a great one today!!! --E xoxo | Tanya's Daily Scoop |
