Throwback Thursday in Arizona!Hey there!! So happy to have you back today and welcome to Throwback Thursday! Today is going to be a great day in spite of the fact that I've got a great deal of running around to do. My to do list today includes a visit to the seamstress to hem a few sundresses (it's not easy being short); the shoemaker to repair one of my shoes; and the hair salon for some beautifying for my Italy trip. I'll be visiting Mom today to help her with her packing. Since I packed last weekend, I took pictures of all my outfits so she can see exactly what I'm bringing with me. Of course, Tanya's anal habit of color coordinating everyone's outfits has rubbed off on me, so everything I'm bringing is color coordinated for me and the kids. I'll see if I can get mom to coordinate too! Last night, did I get a laughing fit. The girls' friend Sarah came over and she and Gianna decided to make s'mores in the house, using the microwave. So, they put chocolate on a graham cracker and placed a marshmallow on top it is. Then, in the microwave it went. I didn't realize that if you put a marshmallow in the microwave, it would expand enormously. Well, after 16 seconds, look at the before and after! We all got such a laughing fit. It looked like a big, giant pillow! It completely overpowered the graham cracker and was almost the size of the salad plate it was on! I immediately took pictures to share with you today. We called it the marshmallow that ate Cleveland! Since Sarah was over, Kelsey decided that she wanted everyone to go out to dinner instead of just the two of us. So, we all headed into Westhampton Beach to Mambo Kitchen for some wraps. Very delish, I might add! Then we made two sweet stops -- First to Haagan Daz for ice cream for the kids and then to the bakery for a few pastries for me and Tedd. Along the way, we stopped for a game of hop scotch on the sidewalk!! I have to tell you, I found out last night that my hopping days are a bit behind me. I made a pledge to start jump roping to get myself back in the hopping, in-shape mode. The kids had a blast - look at Kelsey go! Today, I've a throw back to 1995! It was while Tedd and I were still dating. We took a trip to Arizona - visiting Scottsdale, Sedona and of course the Grand Canyon. I hope you enjoy reading today's throwback story, Hungry & Dirty in Sedona along with the accompanying pictures. I kept a pretty extensive journal, so thankfully many of the details were preserved! Have a fabulous day!!! -E | Between trips!Wow, it's already Thursday! I can't believe that we leave for Europe in 5 days!! So much to still be done, and I've barely unpacked from returning on Tuesday. I'm pretty certain that I won't be forgetting anything. I'm pretty anal about making lists. We went out shopping last night to pick up a few odds and ends that would be needed for our 3+ weeks trip. Dave B. also needed a trim, and since I felt like my hair was kinda on the dry side, I opted to get a deep conditioning and a little trim myself. Ahh nice and silky smooth! Mani/Pedi is scheduled for Saturday. I can't wait! For some reason it feels like it's been an extra long time since I've had them done. I also dropped off my pocketbook at the dry cleaners - fingers crossed that they can get the Manhattan Special (coffee stains) out of it with their spot treatment, otherwise it'll take 2 weeks to get it back. Which is not good since I planned to take this bag with me on the trip. Quite happily, I managed to overcome the issues that I was having with this site and upload even more pictures! Each one of them bringing back some wonderful memories for me! Memories are what Throwback Thursdays are all about, and I can't wait to read Elisa's recollection of her 1995 trip to Arizona! As for today, it'll be fairly mellow. I'll be working on the blog, I also have plenty of organizing and laundry to do, and then maybe I'll even start packing! Based on my anal packing habits, I'm not whatsoever a space saver or someone who you will see wearing the same outfit twice on a trip. So, I always have my work cut out for me!! Wish me luck! Until tomorrow. Over and out, -T |
