Sunday's Week in ReviewGood Day!!! I thought I would end the weekend with a little review of my week and a little bit about my day today. This week was chock full of good stuff! I managed to make it to the gym three times this week! That was my goal when I joined so I was quite proud of myself for pushing it all week. Of course, I'm in some pain but no pain, no gain! Earlier in the week, I had my first Brownie meeting of the year for Kelsey's troop. As I mentioned this past Wednesday, we had a guest speaker to help the girls earn their "Pets" merit badge. My wonderful vet, Dr. Silverman, from Garden City Park Animal Hospital, joined us. Not only did he come and share his time, but he brought along some adorable friends!! A three-month old kitten, a ferret, a snake and the sweetest love bird! The kids had a blast! It was truly one of the best meetings we've ever had! Dr. Silverman's generosity with his time and knowledge will always be remembered by these girls. I am so lucky to call him my personal veterinarian! Yesterday, Saturday, Gianna had the last in her Fall series of baking classes at A La Carte Cooking School. When I picked her up, I was lucky enough to taste two of the delicacies they made - Lemon filled crepe and a lemon filled eclair. They were both heavenly! Polly, the owner of A La Carte, is so friendly and warm and it is obvious how much she loves teaching kids. Gianna and her friend also made a "Buche de Noel" which is basically a Yule log cake. Unfortunately, for me, there was nothing left to taste!! But, Polly could not stop complementing the girls on how great they did. If you love cooking and you live on Long Island, A La Carte is definitely a place for you to check into to. Click this link to read more about my experience this summer at A La Carte. Last night was date night and Tedd and I went to see This is Where I Leave You. with Jason Bateman and Tina Fey. I don't exactly know what I think about this movie. It was definitely entertaining, but I feel like they tried to squeeze too many life issues into the plot. Put it this way, I wouldn't see it again. Enough said. So that brings me to today - - I'll be heading into NYC to go on our Cupcake Walking Tour! I am thrilled that the weather is gorgeous, making it perfect for being outside. I'm also glad I didn't eat too much yesterday because Lord knows, I will be going all out to savor every morsel of the sweets I'll be trying today! I will be going into great detail this coming Wednesday, October 1st about Great New York Tours and specifically their Cupcake Walking Tour, so tune in!! And so I wish you a lovely and peaceful Sunday! Relax, Enjoy and Reflect!! See you back here tomorrow!! xoxo -E | Once Upon a Time Returns!!!Hello Dearies, Happy Sunday to one and all! Now, although I'm not a hUgE fan of ONCE UPON A TIME. Cosette LOVES this show and consider herself a 'ONCER' and it would be a crime for me not to mention the return of this new hit and cult classic gong into it's 4th season! She has been looking sooooooo forward to tonight's episode - she is definitely HOOKED! What I know is that the cast of 'Frozen' will join the cast of 'Once Upon a Time' tonight! That should definitely be an interesting twist! I'll be watching it right along side of her, because I know how much she enjoys sharing her interests! Hope it's a great episode - I know there are a ton of fans with much anticipation, eager to start a new season keeping up with the drama of their favorite characters! Who's your favorite character? Ya know, there were so many times yesterday when I was convinced that it was already Sunday and that today was going to be Monday, and then I would realize that it was only Saturday and that I still had another day of the weekend to enjoy! Yippee! Yesterday started off with us taking the kids to their performance at the Irvine Global Village Festival; it was a very colorful event! Lots of cultures being represented, but I was shocked that there was absolutely nothing Italian! WTH?! Of course I'm talking aside from my sweet love Cosette as the beautiful IPC Ambassador of Italy! The kids did a great job singing and dancing, and once their set was wrapped up, we had walked around the festival to check things out for a bit. Cosette started getting pretty warm (in her costume) and her change of clothes was in the truck, so we opted to leave the festivities and go head to lunch. Lunch was at the new Marketplace location of Veggie Grill, where we were all excited about getting their MONDO NACHOS, which on the rating scale are one of the Top 3 Vegan Nachos Anywhere! After a filling lunch, we then headed into the bookstore where I found the book on Southwest Road-Trips that I've been wanting to get! I was pretty darn stoked! Next we went to a Costume store. Dominic and Cosette already decided what they are going to dress up as for Halloween (Greek God/Goddess). Now it was our turn! And to make things even more difficult - the kids wanted to give their approval (mainly Cosette, so that we don't embarrass her)! It's been figured out - we are going to be PIRATES!!! Argh Matey! After all of that, all of a sudden the rest of the day was pretty open... UT OH! I don't like when that happens! We were all trying to come up with ideas as to what we should do next... I came up with the idea to take the kids to the park. This park was no ordinary park - it was Castle Park! I use to luv this park! It was so very much fun once upon a time ago, and not geared toward babies and wee little kids. Well, we went and the park obviously changed some, because now it is primarily geared toward little kids. Well, my big kids still managed to have fun and tire out, and I enjoyed watching them and taking pictures - I was in a dress and had some big 'ol wedges on, so I couldn't very well get out there and play along side them! NEXT TIME! Then it was decided to go to the movies! There really hasn't been anything of interest released lately, but then we realized that 'This is Where I Leave You' was now out, and since we are both fans of Jason Bateman, the choice was obvious! Turns out that the movie was just "eh ok", and it really wasn't a movie for kids - so needless to say my kids didn't like it! Onward to today's plans, Dave and I are heading up to Agoura Hills to visit his mom for a few hours. Since we are going past LA, we decided to go and try brunch out at Crossroads Kitchen, and we are both looking very forward to it!! The kids wanted to sleep late this morning, and are staying home with mom-mom; later this afternoon we'll be jamming back to Anaheim Hills to take Cosette to her Girl Scouts troop meeting. Aside from some food shopping, that'll be about it for my Sunday, it'll be time for me to get my butt in the kitchen and whip up some dinner for the crew! Now, go and make the best out of your Sunday and be sure to come back tomorrow to read all about how ours went! BFN, -T |
