Travelin' Tuesday & Part 14 of Cousins' New Mexico Road Trip BlogWelcome to Travelin' Tuesday today! This is the day that we feature articles and features on our travel blog and specific upcoming trip blog posts. We are very excited to be posting our last and final blog post - Part 14 - of Tanya & Elisa's New Mexico Road Trip Blog. before taking the blog live this week! (Please click here to read Part 14) This trip will officially be underway, with Tanya's departure tomorrow from Anaheim towards New Mexico. She will be stopping along the way in Sedona, Arizona visiting Bell Rock for some hiking and enjoying this great city for a few days. In honor Travelin' Tuesday, I wanted to tell you about 2 historic travel moments on September 30th: * In 1946: The Captain of the British Liner the Queen Mary claimed a new world record for the Atlantic crossing of 3 days, 15 hours and 48 minutes for the crossing from Halifax to Southampton. * In 2009: Guy Laliberte, a Canadian billionaire, became the first clown to travel to outer space as a part of the space tourism program. Unlike previous space tourists, Laliberte declared his interest in space travel are not scientific but artistic. And don't forget to read the article Tanya linked in her Daily: Air Travel Trouble: Fire at O'Hare, Air France Strike tomorrow, which she will tell you more about. I'm just about all packed and ready to go, when I depart for Albuquerque this Friday. A few last minute items, but the clothes, shoes and outerwear are set. If you have been following us, you remember that the initial inspiration for this entire trip was the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta! In less than a week, we will be at the field, bright and early (literally, at the crack of dawn!) to witness the amazing balloon ascension! Here's that wonderful Time Lapse Video from Roadtrippers to see why we are so excited! Wishing you happy travelin' today and always, -E | Final Details...This is the last day before we hit the open road and commence on our much anticipated road trip heading to New Mexico, where Elisa and the girlies will be meeting up with us! How exciting! We are counting the hours as they go by and we are officially on VACATION!!! You'll want to be sure and catch up with all of the planning that was involved with the itinerary for this trip, and what a better day to do that on then...Wait for it. Wait for it... TRAVELIN' TUESDAY!!! Part 14 of Tanya & Elisa's New Mexico Blog is up and posted! Please take the time to read it and if you have any additional ideas, comments, and/or suggestions please don't be shy - come on out and share them with us. We don't bite. I might nibble a little, but not too hard! ;) And just when I think that I have everything in order, is when I realize just how much I actually still need to do! Ugh - this seems to always happen! I think it's more that I keep adding to my list instead of being happy that I'm getting through it! I want to do more, bring more, plan more, more, more, more! Heading to Cosette's Horseback riding lesson soon, and then taking care of a few errands before heading to pick up my rental this evening, taking Dominic to a couple of his classes and then loading up car, so that it's ready for our 6am departure! My expectations are that the kids will wake up - not expecting them to be bright eyed or busy tailed whatsoever, they'll get dressed, climb into the car, we'll take off and they will zonk out! I'll have the tunes going, I'll be jamming along, and I'll have 7.5hrs ahead of me before arriving to Sedona, Arizona. We'll make our usual stop at Bell Rock on our way into town, do a little bit of hiking. Finally we'll go check in, unload, and probably hit the pool. We're bringing our tennis racquets, so I imagine that we'll go play tennis either tomorrow evening (if we are up to it), or we'll wait until Thursday for our first game! JSYK - I'll be posting and adding new pictures everyday! Have a Joyous Day & I'll see y'all on the road! -T |
