Travel Plans GALORE Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Greetings and a very Happy mid-week to you! The summer is almost upon us and that means it's time for Summer travel plans. I'll take any excuse to travel. But honestly, who really needs an excuse to travel?! However, if you know me then you already know that I'm not the biggest fan of the Summer. Primarily because of how darn HOT it gets. But also because almost everywhere you go it is so much more crowded than the rest of the year and which in most cases also equates to being more expensive. So there I am miserably hot, often in a crowd and spending definitely more moola than necessary. But just as one must breathe, travel I must. And the one thing that I do love about the summer is BASEBALL. Baseball - America's Favorite Pastime and definitely the one thing about Summer plans that I do look forward to! So far if you've been keeping track, I've been to 27 of the 30 team stadiums - 26 of the current stadiums... Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers, opened in 2020 and I had visited Globe Life Park in 2019 (which is literally across the street from the new field). More on this: A FUNDAY in Texas So needless to say, I sort of need to redo Dallas... Not a problem whatsoever, especially since the 2024 MLB All Star Game is going to be held at Globe Life Field and you know that I plan on being there! So anyhoo, back to what I was saying before I distracted myself. NEXT TRIP - Well, I kinda sorta already left this morning for a short trip to Minnesota, to check off number 28 in my quest to see all 30 baseball stadiums. I'll be catching my boys in pinstripes (the Yankees) battle it out with the Minnesota Twins. They won the first of the 3 game series last night with a score of 5-1 and I am hoping to watch 2 more wins and a sweep of the series (I can wish, can't I?!) GOOOO YANKEEEEES! And this month will be a month of baseball for me since I will be following the NYY on a bit of their west coast road trip. May 24-26 - SD vs NYY May 28-30 - LAA VS NY May 31-June 2 - SF vs NY Since I live fairly close to San Diego (about 1.5 hour away), I plan on spending a fun day down in San Diego and just going to one of the games before then heading back home. As for when the Yankees play the Angels, well that is practically in my backyard and I'll hopefully be going to at least 2 of the games. Then I'll be heading up to San Francisco for a few days get away. I use to go to San Francisco all the time; really loved it. Then over time it became rather dirty and let's face it plain ol' GROSS and NASTY. But I heard that the city got cleaned up for a certain Chinese National that was visiting back in November 2023. And I decided to plan a visit in December. To which I was so pleasantly surprised as to just how very clean the city was! Goes to show...I'll just leave this here and you can fill in the blank. Anyhow, that pretty much that will take care of my travels for May and June, although somewhere in there I might even bop over the International border and spend the day in Tijuana. Since we've been gone for so long I figure that before I tell you about my plans for the remainder of 2024 that we do a little back tracking a on all the travels I've already done since the beginning of 2024: In January we went to Disney World with my sister Jet, niece Chaplin, brother in law Andrew (oh yeah - they got married last year!), Dominic, Cosette, Dave C., Javier and Dave Y had even caught the tail end of our week at the parks. This was the first time for my sis and her fam. What a wonderful trip it was! The in February, Dominic, Dave and I took a cruise that was suppose to go to Grand Cayman and to Cozumel, MX. And I say suppose to go, because there was some weather issues that caused the Capitan to adjust our plans and not go to Grand Cayman but substitute it with Key West. Then the end of February and beginning of March we were off to Phoenix for some Cactus League Spring Training . Then come April it was a bit more busy! The Yankees were in Phoenix playing the Arizona Diamondbacks and I wasn't going to miss that. So back to Arizona we went! Then we were off to Park City, Utah - my only ski trip of the season (my worst ski season on record). We also took a Mexican Rivera cruise, that went to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. And then most recently and so far in May, I was in NYC. The rest of the year will be filled with going to New Hampshire, back to New York, Hawaii, probably Vietnam, Japan and then some...I'll be filling you in on all the deets as we continue to come backatcha from Travelin' Cousins! See ya back here on Saturday. Cheerio, Travelin' Tanya | Upcoming June Travel Plans Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Hey guys! So, can I tell you that Tanya and I are both thrilled beyond belief to be back on the blog, especially in light of the fact that we are celebrating 10 years with Travelin' Cousins! After a brief conversation yesterday, we both decided that we are going to blog about three times per week. We want to keep the momentum going with all of you but right now we cannot go back to our daily schedule like we used to. So considerate this The “ Almost “ Daily Scoop! Moving right along - we cousins have some really fun upcoming trips. I will be staying close to home - meaning, no international trips - for the foreseeable future (unlike my dear Cuz - spoiler alert!). Nonetheless, there will be no lack of fun and excitement! Elisa's Upcoming Trips I'm ashamed to say, I had to take a hiatus from our blog due to a number of factors over the past few years, and now I'm gearing back up! June and July are filled with a few interesting trips, which I will certainly be blogging and vlogging about!! Lancaster County, Pa We will be heading off to Lancaster later this month - the home of the Amish and a place that has a special place in my family's heart!! My mom, who loves Lancaster, hasn't traveled there in many years, and we thought Why Not?? So Mom, my two girls and me will be taking a little road trip (lol - 2 hours) for a few day visit to celebrate the kick off of Summer and Kelsey's high school graduation. What's so great about traveling now is that my daughter Kelsey, in particular is a wonderful planner, itinerary creator and total "mostly"-vegan foodie like me and Tanya!! More on this trip - where we'll be going, seeing and eating!! Disney World, Orlando, FL You can't possibly forget what Disney freaks me and my daughters are. Well, although we really didn't travel much over the past few years, we did manage to get our butts to Disney. Our last trip was in November 2021. It was a little strange with the whole mask thing and all, but as always, we managed to have lots of fun!! This June we'll be headed back - we are in the midst of planning the adventures - which are thinking about doing some different things on this trip. More to come on this one!! I'm hoping to have some more interesting "Outer Borough" excursions in the coming months as well! TTFN! -Travelin' Elisa |
