New Adventure being planned
Hi guys, sorry I missed you yesterday.
Turned out to be a hectic morning and then when I finally had time to bop on, I had some other bopping around to do. Liz happened to be visiting with adorable Aurora and she needed to run an errand that she couldn't take Aurora along for. It called for a babysitter and I jumped at the chance to enjoy some quality time with the little princess.
She is such a doll! And I was so glad to have the time to spend bonding with her.
Well guess what... it is yet another rainy day here in SoCal. To be perfectly honest with you, I don't think it has ever rained this much on any of my visits to Seattle! And as you know - I'm luvin' it! The green rolling hills and white mountains in the background are absolutely stunning.
Meanwhile yesterday I had also chatted with a friend and have come up with another trip!!!
The details have yet to be hashed out. But the trip would involve us backpacking the Lost Coast of California. Have you heard of it? It wasn't until sometime within the past 8 years that I learned about it. Then it so happened that about 5 years ago a friend of mine Jeff Hester who publishes the ever popular SOCAL HIKER had gone on the 25 mile hike and explored it first hand.
We will definitely be referring to his article (above) as we work on the details of this little adventure.
Right now it is slated for the end of July. My friend Cody is confirming the dates with his girlfriend and then we will be obtaining the necessary permits. The Lost Coast is actually a bit further North that I had remembered. The Lost Coast Trail in the King Range National Conservation Area is about five hours north of San Francisco.
And being that we will only be 3.5 hours from one of our favorite places in California - Mendocino and the Vegan Bucket Lister eco-lodge The Stanford Inn by the Sea.
So in addition to the hike, we will be working out a visit to this lovely lodge most likely as a post hike treat!!
In related reading:
The Ravens Restaurant at The Stanford Inn by the Sea - Mendocino, CA M is for May and May is for The Millennium and Mendocino! So this should definitely be a fun one!! My next trip is to Tampa as you know and I helped Dave pack, but I still need to get my packing taken care of. I know that I haven't got the time to tackle this today. But hopefully I can do it tomorrow. Otherwise I will be going a bit nuts on the morning of. YIKES. Alrighty time for me to bust a move and bop on outta here. Until tomorrow, -Travelin' Tanya |
