Located in Mendocino, California with views of the Pacific Ocean and on the property of the Vegan Bucket-Lister The Stanford Inn By the Sea is the wonderful and healthy dining establishment The Ravens Restaurant. 


Serving both Breakfast and Dinner, and closed during the lunch hours, the kitchen pumps out some wonderfully handcrafted menu items. 

I've been so lucky to visit this amazing property a number of times, fall in love with it and return over and over again!
Each time I visit I recognize many familiar faces of the happy employees who seem to just love it there - and I don't blame them!

The food is always fresh and so locally grown that it comes from the gardens just steps away located on the gorgeously landscaped grounds. 

Each morning they offer freshly squeezed juices along with a hot drink of your choice, an extensive menu that is sure to delight any one's mood appetite and/or tastebuds.

Daily new fillings to inquire about for their delicious Chickpea Omelette - my favorite Ravens breakfast item! But from the Waffles to Florentines, Enchiladas to Benedict, and let's not forget about the fresh baked cinnamon bread fresh toast! You can't go wrong with anything you order. The only problem is not being able to try EVERYTHING!

Between meals from 3:30pm-4:30pm they even offer a lovely Tea Time. And you know how much I just love my Tea Time! No matter what's on my schedule, I'm certain to be found sipping my tea and enjoying the daily dessert tasting that is offered and always quite delicious!

And at night they welcome you back with a smile and have the tables set by candlelight (hence the dark lighting in some of the pictures), they always highlight a daily soup, a daily sushi roll and seasonal toppings for their flatbread, all based on what is available in the "garden"!

Roasted Cauliflower and Shiitake Bisque
The service is always very cordial and the servers are very knowledgeable. Everything is served in a timely manner, and they are very attentive, leaving you wanting for nothing.
 
Catering to vegans and with offerings for gluten free diets as well. Each dish is beautifully served and an offering of bread is there if you should so desire, served each night with a freshly crafted spread. 
At dinner time while waiting on your meal the chef sends out a small amuse to prepare your appetite.

And if I must remind you to save room for dessert! The desserts and baked good that I've tried have all been quite delicious, but I've gotta say that I am usually rather full and by this time of the meal I only have room to share that sweet little something!

In addition, not that it has anything to do with the food, but the gardens are an absolute delight to walk through. So abundant, fragrant, colorful and utterly beautiful! I highly recommend it!

    Tanya is a free sprit who resides in Southern California with the only family that she has outside of NY (you can take a girl out of the city, but you’ll never take the city out of this girl). Her housemates include her mom, her 2 sisters, her brother, her sister’s boyfriend, her niece, her 2 kids and her ex! Yup...all under one roof! Her professional career and background was in film (writing, production and acting). Currently she is a stay at home mom - who is hardly ever at home, and who’s passions are: everything travel related, food (both cooking and eating), photography, skiing and of course, shopping!
