The eatery itself is quite small, located right off Main Street, on Moniebogue Lane, right up the block from the Westhampton Theatre. Considerably narrow as you enter, a huge wrap around counter encompasses the cooking and prep area, with a large wall, lined with the food offerings. Both the front and back door exteriors have a mock screen made of hanging blue chains, setting the tone for the relaxed and laid back atmosphere inside.
The decor is informal and simple, with soft blue tones throughout with a surf shack feel. Simple Hawaiian prints fill the wall space throughout, except for one wall which is comprised of customer renderings adhered to string by clothespins, under the heading "Best Picture of the Week Wins a Sweet Crepe." The air is filled with smooth '40's throwback tunes of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and other jazz standards of that era for a by-gone era mood.
In addition to Westhampton Beach, there is also another location in Maui, Hawaii, which is the original Cafe Mambo as well as Mambo Kitchen right on Main Street in Westhampton Beach, which has an array of sandwiches, salads and great breakfasts.
Happy Eating!
