Mary Poppins Returns, Disney World Trip Update & Dominican Republic Trip Photo Re-cap
Good day guys!!
I feel like we had two vacations in one this holiday. First, a trip to the Dominican Republic and now an additional week off, which will include New Year's!! The kids are really stoked that they have so much time off. Well, yesterday, our first full day back on Long Island, me and my girls woke up early and were out the door by 8:30am to take in an early day movie to see Mary Poppins Returns. We decided that since Punkin was not going to be picked up from boarding until the afternoon, at which time, we would want to spend time with her, that we would catch an early showing of this movie. So, we ordered the tickets through Fandango, (which we accessed through Ebates for cash back) in the Uber Thursday night, on the way back home from the airport.
Believe it or not, there were not that many tickets left! I wasn't aware so many people went to the movies so early. However, then I realized why - the 9am showing at AMC Theaters is $7.79 - quite a savings from the usual $13.99.
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! Emily Blunt was terrific and Lin-Manuel Miranda was fabulous!! All new original music; great story; talented cast, and may I say, that I believe the costumes were some of the best I've seen in a feature film in a very long time!! I'm crossing my fingers for an Academy-Award win for best costumes. The most impressive of all were when the characters were part of the animation - their clothing was unbelievably gorgeous!! After returning home from the Mary Poppins Returns, food shopping, and the laundromat, I got crackin' on my blog. I thought I posted my blog in time for our emailing, but I soon realized that while I was publishing, The Daily Scoop was emailed lol. So, here is the link to my Scoop yesterday: Guess what I finished sooner than expected?? In travel news... I FINALLY BOOKED MY AIRFARE FOR ORLANDO, FLORIDA!! I was waiting and waiting; tracking flight prices for the past few months and wow, these rates never seemed to drop. So, Wednesday night, while still in Puerto Plata, I went onto my Delta account and just used mileage points to secure three tickets for me and the girls for our February Kelsey's 13th Birthday Trip to Disney World.
Definitely a load off of my mind to have this booking completed. Now, I can book the "Magical Express" which is Disney's complementary shuttle bus service from Orlando International Airport to the Walt Disney World Resort.
It's a great service. If you are not familiar with this, here is how it works - - you advise Disney of your flight details and once you check your baggage from your departure airport, the Disney staff retrieves it upon flight arrival at Orlando International and delivers it directly to your room!!! I'll be calling today to finalize the Magical Express and then all I have left to do in the next few weeks is to purchase our park tickets and our meal plan. Thanks to Kelsey, our itinerary for the entire trip, including meal reservations, are all completed. I'll be adding my trip details and itinerary to my trip page in the coming days. Today, I'm going to get to unpacking and putting everything away, including my laundry. I'll also be getting to work on my 2019 Editorial plan for TC Blog and some new exciting things coming for the new year!! - Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
My 2018 Travel Re-cap around the world from Aruba to Wuxi
Hello and welcome back!
Thank you so much for joining us here at Travelin' Cousins for the last weekend of 2018. Yup today is the last Saturday of the year and like I always say and do - MAKE IT COUNT!
So as I promised you yesterday I would be sharing my 2018 travels around the world...
In 2018 I travelled a total of 144 days! I started off the year with a BANG as I ventured off to Las Vegas-
Then as my usual my winter was filled with plenty-o-skiing. Going to places like Lake Tahoe, Park City & Breckenridge -
There was then a quick bop over to Chicago for a sweet little visit to the windy city -
Next up was a change from the big city to the barren dessert of Death Valley-
Once March came around it was time for me to take the kids abroad to visit the eternal city of Rome and for a road trip across Ireland and the Republic of Ireland-
Once back to the states I made my way over to Phoenix for some Spring Training fun-
Then before long we were heading out to Moab for a mountain biking paradise-
Biking season was in full force and we were then on our way to Monterey for the Sea Otter Classic-
San Francisco was next -
Then back to my roots and to NYC for a Bike Tour of the 5 Boros-
Come May it was time to go abroad once again and first up was Sweden -
And then a road trip through Germany, Poland, Czech and Austria -
After a short stop back on the home front, we were off again and heading back to the east coast from the MLB All Star game in our country's capital and then from Maine to New Hampshire, New York to Virginia -
After this visit it was all about the islands ad I started with Aruba, Curacao and the Turks and Caicos -
We then went on our annual camping trip and this time to Idyllwild -
We squeezed in a trip back to Lake Tahoe to ride in Tour the Tahoe -
It was then time for us to head back to the islands and this time to Oahu and Maui -
Then a visit to Vegas with friends -
Of course there was China -
And our last trip of 2018 was an early December trip back to sin city - Las Vegas -
Sharing these pictures with you has brought back some very wonderful memories from 2018. And I do so hope that they have brought you some smiles and inspiration for the year to come.
We're about to head out to go enjoy some Acai Bowls at Natura Bowls with my friend Jeff and his girlfriend Jennifer (who are visiting from San Diego). I'll be back to fill in any of the blank photo spots on once I return. Catch ya back here later, -Travelin' Tanya |
