Up and At 'EM!Yay! Start of a 3-day weekend! Love it! We were up and out with the car packed by 7:30am this morning to head out east to Remsenburg. Gianna and Kelsey had horseback riding today and then we'll be staying out for the weekend. We spend most weekends during Spring and Fall out east and then relocate there for the summer. This summer, I'm very excited because I will be covering lots of events, activities and places to visit on Long Island all summer long! Ok so back to my little morning journey. A stop at Dunkin' Donuts for bagels and coffee and we were off to do the "nephew switch." My nephew Nolan slept over last night and this weekend while he has baseball games, his brother Julian is coming out east to stay with us . The ride was a breeze. Although we were running late (15 minutes) because I always run late once me and my sister Danielle start talking during a "kid pick up or drop off. We actually 'flew' out since there was no traffic, and made it from Nassau to Remsenburg in 40 minutes!! (It's usually an hour drive). The ride consisted of a mix of music as I switched Sirius stations from Studio 54 to 70's on 7 to Classic Vinyl. It was a strange medley going from Its Raining Men by The Weather Girls to Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy to Foreigner's Double Vision. But, the sun was shining even though rain and thunderstorms were predicted, and the music was incidental - So happy! Perfect way to kick off the holiday weekend! Plus, I love walking thru the pasture at the barn in the sunshine to say hi to the horsies relaxing and grazing on grass! The goat at the barn gave birth to 3 of the cutest baby goats last week! The kids were loving it!! There were also 2 new foals born this spring as well, just chillin' with their moms. Last night, I was watching a travel video of Eastern Europe - Prague, Budapest, and Croatia. I was texting Tanya the 411 on what I was watching and we were both so sold on either adding this to our Eastern Europe Trip next June/July OR planning an entirely new trip to Croatia -- hmmm decisions, decisions. Off to sit outside and chill in the sun - and see if I can stay still long enough to get alittle color! Hope you enjoy Tanya's daily blog today about her weekend trip to San Francisco and Mendochino!!! Workin' on lots of fun blogs this weekend. Stay tuned! Happy Memorial Day Weekend!! -E | Super Trip So Far!Good morning everyone!! Don'tcha just luv it when you have days where EVERYTHING goes just 100% as planned?! I had one of those wonderful days yesterday - where everything just fell into place ever so perfectly! Even in-spite of when Dave wasn't quite ready to start the day and these were his words: "really...I won't blow your schedule too much!" Well he didn't, not in the least! And what a long day it was..The Giants won the Twins 6-2 & on the 3 hour & 40 minute drive over to Mendocino we saw 5 deer, 2 wild pigs, and a fox! Fun and so cute! We finally got to our hotel at 2:05am, and there was a gorgeous bouquet of flowers waiting for me! This morning I slept in a little bit more than yesterday. Got to breakfast for our 9:15a reservations at Ravens which is always a delightful meal, and surrounded by such beautiful scenery! We'll soon be taking a stroll on the fabulous grounds - taking lots of pictures I'm sure, then going mountain biking and canoeing this afternoon. My ideal day of relaxing...ahhhhhh :-) And how can I forget to mention to you that during a text chat yesterday with Elisa - she was telling me all about a DVD she had just watched on Croatia and how lovely it seems. That was it...Definitely didn't take much...I'm SOLD! Now to figure out where to plug that baby into our travel schedule!!! How's this: Travelin Cousins the WORLD TOUR! Any sponsors?? (XOXO - with a cherry on top!) Ok, I gotta keep on movin...so I can make some room in my gut for lunch. ;) Happy Trails & Happy Travels -T |
