Elisa's Daily Scoop Foodie Friday at MP Taverna in Astoria, QueensCan I tell you how happy I am that Friday is here. I mean, it wasn't a terribly stressful week, but I don't know, I'm just happy that it's over. Did you ever just want the weekend to come? I had that this week, and you all know how much I live for Mondays and the start of the work week. In any case, our fall/school year routine has begun and we got through the first week with flying colors. I'm not sure what's happening, but, my girls just seem so much older all of a sudden. They are just so helpful and total joys to be around. I think that is what's so wonderful about having daughters. There is just an amazing bond that gets more and more special as they grow up. More of my complaining...I've felt like I have been harboring something for the past few weeks - like I'm coming down with a cold, but it doesn't quite come out. We'll see how the weekend goes. And tomorrow is the first day of our Saturday riding - wow, did the summer speed by! The good news is, I have my best buddy who I'll be spending Saturdays with -- my little Punkin. She is just such a joy to have in the car; hang out at Tanger with; and pretty soon, join me in the arena to watch the girls ride. The "bad" news is ---- more driving!! lol. I cannot complain (though, I will lol) because these girlies are doing AMAZING at their riding and in truth, it's really the only extracurricular activity in which they participate. The high school they both hope to go to has an equestrian team, which I really am pretty sure both girls will make. This could be a wonderful resume item when applying to colleges later on. Yay for Foodie Friday! It's been a while since we featured a Food Friday story, but it is with great pleasure that I present: Chef Michael Psilakis' MP Taverna, Astoria is a Greek Masterpiece. If you recall, me and the girls visited my Aunt Ro a few weeks ago and had a very tasty lunch together in Astoria. (CLICK HERE for the Blog for that day). If you a fan of Greek Food, then this eatery is a must for you! I know Tanya has some very "tasty morsels" of restaurant features that she will be writing about in the coming Foodie Fridays from her dining experiences on her recent Magical Anniversary Trip to Europe. Please check out her side today, where she lists some of her favorite meals from her latest travels. I'm excited about our blog tomorrow - we have decided to feature, "Cities You'd Never Think of Visiting." It's going to be a great deal of fun, so be sure to check in! Ok folks, here's to a great Friday! Gonna shake my tail feathers and get going! -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily Scoop |
