Tanya's Daily Scoop
CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: MAUI
Another Day in Paradise!
It's another beautiful day here in Maui!
Yesterday I'm certain was much more full of fun activities and sights than most natives would pack into a day, but when you are waking up at 5am and not hitting the surf that's just what this Vacation Nazi does! (Yes, people have been known to call me a Vacation Nazi!)
So off we went, and stuck to our itinerary. Everything going according to plan without a hitch - that always makes me happy!
And then when we arrived to our first stop - breakfast, I realized that we left too early and we had at least an hour to kill...
No worries mates, we are in Hawaii and with all of the amazing scenery that surrounds us, I'm bound to find something for us to do - and adding things into an itinerary is not something that I'm opposed to! ;-)
Since we were already in Wailuku, we only have about a 10 minute drive to the IAO VALLEY State Monument - sounded perfect to me!
We took an educational train tour and learned about all the different flora there in Maui and on the plantation.
The plantation is landscaped beautifully and it was very difficult to not take several pictures of everything!
Lahaina's Front Street has been ranked one of the "Top Ten Greatest Streets" by the American Planning Association. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stroll going in and out of the cute little shops, we had a delicious lunch, and took some shade under the massive 141 year old Banyan tree located in Bayan Court Park!
But this was a totally different world of vegan food and it was delicious! There was actually a bit too much of it - luckily we have Dominic the (food garbage disposal) with us! He scarfed up both Dave and my left overs!
I honestly think that even if the show and the food sucked that they would still want to come back just for these drinks!
I'll see ya back here again tomorrow :)
And don't forget that tonight is the Blood Moon!!!
The moon will turn blood red tonight in extremely rare Supermoon total eclipse - the last total eclipse was in December 2010, however the combination with the supermoon has not been seen since 1982!
So please check the times for whatever time zone that you are in and don't miss out - even if it means waking up during the middle of the night...it's worth missing a bit of sleep over.
Ok, that's all folks -
xoxo from Hawaii
