Busy, Busy Day and Early Female Aviators

Good day to you!!
I'm starting off this day with a real bang - have a great deal to do and a few appointments.

It's 8:44 and I've already dropped off kids at school, dropped off Punkin at doggie daycare and dropped off my laundry at the laundromat. (Yes, remember, my washing machine died ugh!).

This will be a quick one since I have a 10AM phone/con with the marketing & promotions director of a large restaurant chain, which specializes in vegan options.  I'll tell you more later!

In any case, I'm going to leave you with a fascinating article.  With Tanya having taken the red eye last night out of Maui to San Francisco and back to SoCal, I thought it would be fitting to talk about women aviators! (Not that Tanya is flying the plane, but I sort of felt there was a connection lol)

I came across this article by Kate Siber in OutsideOnline.com:

This article features Ms. Siber's interview with Keith O'Brien, the author of Fly Girls, in which O’Brien tells the stories of five pioneering women pilots—Amelia Earhart, Ruth Elder, Florence Klingensmith, Ruth Nichols, and Louise Thaden.

These brave pioneers joined forces to fight for the right to race against men and, in some of the most prestigious races, even beat them!

It's a great read and for the sacrifices these women made, I'm glad that Mr. O'Brien has brought their achievements to the forefront in his new book!! It is currently available on Amazon through the link above!
