Family Reunion Sunday

Hey there!

Another gorgeous Fall day here on Long Island!

Today is really going to be a great day - so much on the agenda.

But, first a look at yesterday...

It was a barn day for the girls and a pretty important one for Gianna.  This was her second to last lesson before she is in her first show next week!

She did amazing!  But, more importantly, she felt confident and assured after riding today about her abilities for next week.

I thought I would venture into the arena with my little pumpkin so I could watch and film my other two human daughters.  But, since this little pooch has found her voice - er um, her bark and growl, she is really putting it to use.

She was doing just fine and I was snapping away.  Then some humans passed the open arena door, unexpectedly, and my toughie began to growl and bark.

That is a total no-no around the horses as it could potentially spook them and cause the rider(s) to get hurt.

I whisked my loud-mouth away and just played with her on the grassy area around the barn.  

Boy, I hope she learns to be quiet so I can bring her in to watch the girls ride.

Back to today!

Gianna and I (and Punkin) will be heading into Astoria to have an afternoon brunch.  We found a cute pet-friendly restaurant - I'll report back to you tomorrow on how it went!

​What I can say is that I found the restaurant on the site www.bringfido.com.

It's a great resource for restaurants, hotels, air travel information and more for those of us who like to travel with our pets!

Then, we are in for a real special treat in the late afternoon when our dear cousins will be popping over to say hi and hang out, during their stay in New York this week.

CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: NEW YORK

Has it really been THAT long?!

GREETINGS from NEW YORK!

I can't believe that we haven't been here since February!!

We arrived in the wee dark hours very early this morning. BUT that was after a busy little day in SoCal...

First thing yesterday morning we got out to the Irvine Global Festival where the kids put on quite a show!

Because our flight got changed, we had just enough time to go home, hang with the fam bam (that we won't see for 3 weeks), and Dominic just barely finished packing his carry-on.

Once we got out the door and on the road we were smacked with a wall of traffic - that sucked. But what came on the radio definitely cheered us up...
​It wasn't something that you hear all that often and was quite fitting to say the least!

We were heading to have dinner at Green Peas before catching our flights. I had been planning this for weeks. I even knew what I was planning on ordering, was hungry and was in the mood for a tasty dinner!

And since we were sitting in traffic and Dave was at the wheel, even though we have been to this restaurant before, I still decided that I was gonna check out some of the top reviewed items. HOWEVER what I came to find out is that the restaurant was closed! And that they close at 4pm on Saturdays...How weird!

So I looked up what else might be vegan and nearby - coming up with 3 choices, and narrowing it down to the 'Stuff I Eat' - a place that I've been curious about trying for a while.

We each ordered a different item off the menu and were delivered colorfully vibrant, fresh, and yummy dishes.

Then Dave continued to drop us off at LAX and off we went on a bumpy ride across the country. 

After not getting the most restful sleep we arrived and were rearing to go! New York City Baby!!

Today will be filled with family fun and hopefully not too much tiredness. Dominic already crashed out for nap time!

Anyhow, I'll be back tomorrow to fill ya in on all the good times.
