Tanya's Daily Scoop
NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 33 DAYS
Five minutes at the Fair
As we made our way from the parking lot to the fairgrounds and then a beeline through thick bbq smoke filled air to find Cosette's photos. Dealing with everything from the incredibly slow walkers to the "geniuses" who decide to stop & stand in the middle of the walkway causing human traffic jams from buttocks to belly buttons.
At this point I'm pretty sure that Cosette's nerves were a tad more than a little high and she definitely had some anxiety going. She was acting like she really didn't want to be there. Asking if we could leave and just go home...over and over again. It had reminded me of how foolish she behaved one day while in London back in April in: And then there were 3
From afar I could spot photograph gallery and the excitement built! We continued our approach and Cosette continued to behave ridiculously. We strolled up and down the gallery trying to spot her works. Seeing photos that had placed that were not worthy and yet not seeing Cosette's "pieces" that were far superior.
At this point Cosette was insistent that she wanted to leave! And since we did not find her work hung in the gallery, I chose not to torture her any longer.
But as we were about to exit the facility, my mom had asked the nearest employee if this was in fact ALL of the photos. And if any of these pictures were taken by any teens...
He answered her in that this was in fact only the adult finishers and that the youth and teen gallery was in another building.
I knew something was fishy!!
So back into the masses we went. Trekking to located building #5.
But the closer we got the more ridiculous Cosette got. Coming close to tears she just could not handle the anticipation.
The moment I walked up to the first wall in the gallery I spotted "Hippocampus in Majesty" and the first place blue ribbon that was next to it.
I mean come on... She was a shoe-in. There wasn't a chance in the world that she wasn't gonna come in FIRST.
But not only did she come in FIRST once, but she came in first place for 2 of the gorgeous photos she had entered and second place for the other 2 gorgeous photos that she entered. 4 entries being the maximum allowed.
The logistics are still being worked out, so we will see if she takes the job.
But heck she's now an award winning photographer - and they charge more...don't they??? LOL
Here are a few more pictures from our short visit to the fair!
Until tomorrow,
