Hi there! You'll never believe where I am... Road tripping out to Phoenix for the day! Yeah I am just about here, there and everywhere. Just don't ask me what day it is. LOL So as I'm sure that you've already noticed, todays focus is on Walt Disney World and the foods that my gang will be endulging in on during our up coming visit in October. Let's get started. It wasn't too long ago that there wasn't much more than a GIANT Mickey Pretzel and good ol' DOLE WHIP that we could find that is/was vegan... But now it's a 'brand new world' over at Walt Disney World and almost all of the oh so many dining establishments are offering something on their menu that is vegan. Being that I really don't want to lose my wifi signal and leave you all hanging, I'm gonna leave you with a simple list of all the wonderful and magical places that we have either made reservations at and/or are going to walk up and grab some great sounding grub...or as I like to call it 'Vegan Foodgasms'! Drumroll please. A few places where Travelin' Tanya wine dine while at Walt Disney World... EPCOT - Food and Wine Festival, Sunshine Cafe, and The Rose & Crown. MAGIC KINGDOM - The Liberty Tree Tavern HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS - Sci Fi Dine In and Hollywood Derby ANIMAL KINGDOM - Satu'li Canteen Well folks that's about it for me for right now. Off to Arizona we go! Toodles, -Travelin' Tanya | Happy to be here today! It's been an interesting week so far. We decided that it would be best for Gianna to work remotely from home going forward. It's not an ideal situation, since we are both working in the same general area, and I have to hear her school classes all day while I'm writing, but we are getting by. Then, Monday was Kelsey's birthday Monday which coincided with her having no school, so I was able to spend most of the day hanging out with her. Our celebration was quite small - just our little trio. I was a bit put out that she did not receive any cards from anyone in the family, including her father. They all opted to send texts, which I personally find to be lame. I'll leave it at that. This year, my girl opted against a cake and instead, we got Oreo Brownies from The French Workshop. These were clearly NOT vegan, so I did not partake, however, the girls devoured them!! Kelsey also decided that she wanted to begin watching the Harry Potter movies, none of which had she seen. So, we figured that her birthday was as good a time as any to begin watching the series of eight, starting with the first-ever movie: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone I know that we are only 20 years behind lol, but better late than never!! We are now one movie down, with seven to go!! Moving Along...Disney World Time!!! If you recall, Kelsey and I left off last Walt Disney Wednesday in our feature "To Visit or Not To Visit in 2021" with a resounding YES that we will in fact make a visit to Disney World in 2021, but we will do so in the Fall rather than the Spring, which was our initial plan. As you already know, Tanya and gang is going to the happiest place on earth next month (October 2020), almost an entire year earlier than my trio! It will be interesting to hear what she has to report regarding all the new rules and regulations and how it impacts on the whole Disney experience. Anyhoo - last night Tanya and I got to talking about her trip, namely, her meal reservations and the food she was planning to eat. I shared the conversation with Kelsey and together we began to chat about our fave Disney foods. Well, before you know it, we were having some massive cravings! Allow me to share the items we were drooling over last night!! Incidentally, Tanya decided to share her Disney World Foodie plans here on The Scoop today, so be sure to read her column! Disney Foods We Are Craving Giant Mickey Pretzel Nothing beats that crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside texture of a giant Mickey Pretzel! Kelsey and I are both serious salt freaks and decided that this will be our first snack purchase on our Fall 2021 trip! Fried Green Beans & Chili Sauce - Yak & Yeti (Animal Kingdom) Folks, if you haven't tried this addicting appetizer yet, I promise you that you will not be able to have just one! These savory fried legumes and their sweet and tangy chili dipping sauce are a regular for my gang on every one of our Disney trips! Falls Family Falafel - Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen (Magic Kingdom) This vegan dish is absolutely droolworthy. A combination of Edamame Hummus with pumpkin seeds, herbs, spices and yummy, crispy falafel balls is great for sharing or as a main course. Of course, me and my girls loves to share!! "Anything" Erin McKenna NYC - (Disney Springs) Truly one of the best vegan bakeries to be found anywhere, Erin McKenna's has a huge assortment of sweet baked goods including donuts, cupcakes, whoopie pies and more. My personal favorite are their donuts. To keep the goodness going, we usually leave the store with a box of goodies to spread the yumminess out throughout our stay. Raspberry Sorbet - The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor (Magic Kingdom) The best part about this icy, cool sorbet is that it is vegan!! I had a particular craving for this last night while chatting!! Here's to a great and delicious day!! Next week we'll be talking about some vegan meals not to be missed throughout Disney World!! Happy Hump Day! - Travelin' Elisa and Kelsey xoxo |
