Best 5 Places to Visit in September
Happy Monday!!
Here we are starting the third week of school for my girls here on Long Island and it's as if summer never happened. Between homework, tests already and getting Kelsey ready for her Catholic High School exam, I am looking forward to our two mini Fall trips. With Kelsey's 13th birthday falling on a Saturday this year, me and Gianna gave her the start treatment for the entire weekend. After our "Broadway Bust" on Saturday when we couldn't get tickets for Waitress, it was Kelsey who opted to just go home, have a quiet weekend and save our money for West Side Story, which is coming back to Broadway in February 2020. We wound up having a Glee fest throughout the wekend (which is what Kelsey wanted) and ordering in from her favorite restaurants!! Of course my girl is no princess underneath it all and she accompanied dear old mom to do laundry and food shopping yesterday morning.
Last night, we welcomed over my sister Danielle and her family to serenade Kelsey with Happy Birthday and indulge in some cake to bring a close to the weekend.
The four cousins hung out, while I walked around my house chatting with Danielle about what I should hold onto and bring with me to our new house and what I should get rid of.
You may notice that both Kelsey and Julian are not smiling - yes - they both are sporting braces lol. Not too much longer and they will have sparkling smiles.
Moving right along - You probably noticed that Tanya will be leaving for Croatia later this week - actually only 4 days left till her departure! I will be traveling with her VIRTUALLY and filling in her in-person adventures in Croatia with some interesting facts and information as she makes her way through the country. As for today, I thought I would share with you the 5 best places to visit in September. With two weeks left of this, the ninth month of the year, it's a good time to think ahead about your travel plans for next year at this time! The rankings were collected by U.S. News and World Report based on an analysis of expert and user opinions. There are a number of positive factors to consider when planning a September trip. First of all, with the kids (and adults) back in school, most tourists will have completed their travels to many of the popular destinations. The airlines and hotels are well aware of the general decrease in travelers in September and generally speaking, airfare and hotel rates will start to come down. It's a good month for finding bargains, great weather in most destinations and less crowds. These factors were taken into consideration according to U.S New's ranking, according to the news site. So, let's take a look at what the consensus is!!
PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
# 1 Place to Visit in September Absolutely one of my favorite cities in the world, I've visited this fairytale destination twice and would go back in a heartbeat. With historic marvels like the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, people have discovered this hidden gem of Europe which not only offers wonders in every inch of the city, but, at affordable prices with hotels rooms at a fraction of the cost of other European cities. HONOLULU - OAHU, HAWAII
#2 Place to Visit in September There's nothing like relaxing beaches, scenic shores and tropical sites to take in when the crowds die down. Oahu is Hawaii's most-visited island and Waikiki is one of the most popular beaches in the USA, Cultural and historic must-see sites to enjoy include the ornate Iolani Palace, and the austere USS Arizona Memorial at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial. GRAND CANYON, ARIZONA
#3 Place to Visit in September Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Grand Canyon is a site to behold, measuring approximately 277 river miles in length, up to 18 miles in width and a mile deep. September not only offers a cooler climate and fewer crowds, but the highly underrated North Rim is still open throughout the month, which is where you'll want to visit for backwoods camping and hardcore hiking. The South Rim, which is home to the Grand Canyon Village and the well-worn Bright Angel Trail is particularly popular for sightseers and hikers, since it has the most amenities and September offers more enjoyment since the crowds are less. VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA
#4 in Best Places to Visit in September Surrounded by mountains and beaches, Vancouver is both an urban and a natural playground. One of the best times of year to visit this city on Canada's western edge is September because of the perfect temperatures for hiking through the city's surrounding mountains, namely, well-known Grouse Mountain. Stanley Park's 1,000-acres offer a hours of relaxation as does a a leisurely walk across the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge. If adventure is more your speed, Vancouver is the place to visit for hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and whitewater rafting. Check out: Canadian Memories
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA
#5 in Best Places to Visit in September When I think of early Autumn, for some reason, it brings up visions of small towns. For small town lovers like me, Greenville could be just what the doctor ordered. Founded in 1786, Greenville is the third-largest urban area in the state and one that is known nationally as one of the fastest-growing cities in the South. Attractions include the Greenville County Museum of Art and the fun, interactive exhibits at the Children's Museum of the Upstate, both located on the Heritage Green campus within three blocks of the shops and restaurants on the Main Street corridor. For outdoor enthusiasts, the nearly 20-mile-long GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail can be accessed from four different points downtown and there is Falls Park on the Reedy, a pastoral oasis in the heart of Greenville. Definitely a place I want to visit!! Ok guys - have a great one!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
