Onward & upward with upcoming travel plansHey!! How is your day going? I have to tell you, my day is going great. It's amazing how the weather can positively or negatively influence my mood and general outlook. Woke up to the most gorgeous day and as fate would have it, my creative juices got going. So, before I get going on my creativity, I have to mention just how exhausted I was this morning when my alarm went off at 6;15. I have not been able to stop watching "Scandal"." My sister, Danielle turned me on to this series, which I have been streaming non-stop on Netflix for the past 5 days. Do you watch this show? Full of intrigue, sex and love - my kind of show!! Okay, back to my creative juices -- I have so many ideas for travel articles and stories for our site that came rushing through my head that I can't wait to share with you. Today, Tanya and I will be jump starting our New Mexico Road Trip with some fine tuning of details. As of today, we have 18 days until we are together in New Mexico and I'm a stoked!! I have to pinch myself when I think that we will be hanging out at the Balloon Fiesta in a few weeks! We want to chat about what we are going to pack as well for this amazing Cousins' southwest travel adventure, which I will share with you tomorrow. But, suffice it to say that this will definitely be a very easy packing job since it's pretty much a jeans and sneakers kinda trip. Click the above link so you can catch up on our 12-Part blog, or go to New Mexico Road Trip Details Page for our itinerary. Tomorrow is Travelin' Tuesday so we will feature Part 13 of this blog, and there will be two additional Parts to follow until we blog live from this trip! Stay tuned!!! Tanya and I also promised each other that we would get moving on our Eastern Europe Trip planning at some point this week. Currently, we have our initial travel itinerary and plan on our page link, but we may switch things around a bit - don't worry - we will post any and all changes. But at this point, you can get a sense of what we are planning on the Eastern Europe page. So, I just met a lovely girl at the gym today who helped me sign up with my new membership. She told me how she and her girlfriend love to travel - I look forward to hearing her feedback about our sight. I was also telling her about my recent trip to Italy this Summer, which then got me reminiscing about all the trips I took in the last year and thought I would share a few of my favorite pictures from Prague, Vienna & Italy! Memories past and new memories to be made in the coming year!!!! Do you have a favorite travel memory? We'd love to hear!!! Til tomorrow, -E PS: for some reason, our Daily from yesterday did not get emailed - our apologies - here is the link to September 14th. | It's gonna be another SCORCHER!Ugh! I am so not a summer person. I tried to avoid summer each year by traveling places that experience very mild, if not even cool weather in the summer. But now I'm back and the wrath of summer has found me. We went to the L.A. County Fair yesterday for the kids performance, and thank GOD for the performance being indoors and for air conditioning, because it was like a furnace outside! So glad we were inside, and while the kids rehearsed, I found a comfy swing chair to sit back and relax in! Then the kids took the stage at The Big Top Theatre and they all did a fine job singing and dancing, as I took my share of photos while testing out my new camera! After the performance, we debated staying at the fair (which we normally try to do, when we can), but this year it was just waaaay too HOT and the gang decided that we bail out. So that's what we did, and on the drive back to Orange County, we had a little excitement on the road...Dave B. neglected to get the brakes done last week and put it off until today (Monday), well something happened while we were driving and the brakes went out!!! After some quick maneuvering and using the emergency brake we were pulled on the shoulder on of the freeway (yes where cars are flying by at speeds of over 70mph). Once Dave figured out how to control the truck, we were back on the road with the traction system going biserk! We listened to the high pitch alarm ring for the entire drive back home. Although we might've all had headaches, we made it back safe and sound. Today will be full of researching & working on trips, chatting with Elisa & working on Travelin' Tuesday, I've also got some more birthday goodies to purchase, and the kids have rehearsal, while I have an associates meeting to attend later tonight, all while attempting to stay cool during these extremely HOT end of summer dayz! I hope that you had a fabulous weekend, and I look forward to seeing you back here tomorrow! -T |
