Tanya's Daily Scoop
NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 1 DAY
Bugs. Blackouts and lots of lots HEAT
I wish I could say "Good Bye" summer - but if this year is anything like years in the past, it won't be cooling off until after Halloween.
Yeah I'm still complaining about the heat.
But my breaking news is that the house is actually nice and cool with a fully functioning A/C. WooHoo! It sure took long enough!
Anyhow we are currently on our way (in mucho mucho traffic) to San Diego to go see the One Republic concert and then off to Las Vegas we go. Yippeeeeee!
No need to bring it to my attention that I did not get to blog yesterday...It wasn't entirely my fault.
Let me start by telling you a bit about the shenanigans that took place 2 days ago. There I was minding my own business working on a couple of projects and sweating my brains out (God Forbid), when Dominic and I noticed a couple of strange looking insects crawling around on the carpet right below my feet.
Quick intro: I am sooooooo not a bug person and freak out super duper easy.
He however didn't quite know what I was talking about and I had to show him and no sooner had these nasty little bugs now shown that they had wings and could fly! ICK ICK ICK
Okay so if they weren't going to cooperate then I would have no choice but to commit bug murder!
There I did it. Seemed like everything was fine. But then out of nowhere we would spot more! SLAM SLAM SLAM I would go at it with my clunky flip flop, but now I had a major urge to vacuum.
That was my drama for Wednesday.
But then on Thursday (yesterday) all of sudden we would spot a few more of these gross bugs. SLAM SLAM SLAM went my flip flop yet again, and out came the vacuum yet again. You get the picture.
The scary thing is that I became very concerned that these winged insects were dreaded termites! While I am no insect specialist. I just had a very bad feeling.
This would be confirmed by Birdwald Ponypants later that evening - right about the time that our entire neighborhood was hit with a power outage - which supposedly happened because of lightning striking the main grid (or something like that - but this story has yet to be confirmed).
Anyhow without power as much as I wanted to stop by and "see" you I really was stuck.
What a couple of days - Bugs, Blackouts, and Heat...Lots and LOTS of heat.
Oh yeah and btw I finally booked Vienna! That I must say is super kewl!
Thank heavens that San Diego is about 20 degrees cooler. Time for a concert.
See ya from Vegas in the morning,
-T
