We are pretty much all packed for Vegas (there are a few things that still need to get tossed into the luggage). And I have started to set things aside for Hawaii!
Yesterday was yet another productive day. And then it was time to sit back, relax and enjoy as I went to get my mani/pedi.
My Dalmatian Toes!
As the night continued on Dave and I took Dominic to his class, and then I was in for a wonderful surprise...
My dear Dave had a surprise for me (I LOVE SURPRISES) and handed me a box...
I then slowly opened the gift (as I normally do), taking my sweet time and making it last as long as possible. I'm definitely not one to tear into things!
And then there it was...
My sweet Dave had replaced something that had been stoled from me 2 years ago and had never replaced. Something that I had missed dearly and had always adored. I would be brought to tears whenever I had looked back at pictures taken prior to the theft (of the missing items - only some of which were able to be replaced with insurance money). CLICK HERE TO READ THE PACKING DOS AND DON'TS. So needless to say that once I had opened my gift, I was so incredibly surprised and happy! It was like seeing an old friend! (insert BIG smile here)
Thank you Dave! <3
Days prior to the theft, in Aug. 2013
As for today, we all know that it's TBT, and both Elisa and I like to have fun with our Throwback stories and pictures...
USS Midway 2010
Cutie Pies - 2011
Elisa's visit to SoCal - Oct. 2013
From the sound of things over on Elisa's side, she certainly has her hands very full and being a bit distracted with her "money pit" of a house, so perhaps she won't be posting her TBT story of the week today... She already has plenty of good ones there in the archives for you to check out!
I'll be back here tomorrow with a new FOODIE FRIDAY that I have been looking very forward to sharing with you...so please be sure to mark your calendar and if you haven't already - you should SUBSCRIBE - it's super easy and we promise not to send you any junk mail!
Catch y'all later, -T
Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 22 DAYS
HELLO! Well, the first day back to school went swimmingly well, but the only casualty was me - I was BEAT last night!! Just a very stressful week.
I'm grateful that this school week is over today. I'm still trying to figure out what the point of two half days was to warrant the schools to open prior to Labor Day!!
Oh well, it is what it is.
Yesterday, I took a little break to go visit my sister and let the kids go swimming in her pool. It was a good stress-buster for them and I definitely needed a few laughs with my sissy!
sitting with my sissy in front of her house reading silly quotes on the internet!
Today, I had to help out my friend Marta, who had a conflict in her schedule and brought her son Mark back to my house after school. This was fun for the kids, especially Kelsey, who is in the same class as Mark.
They had a little pizza party and played outside.
As it might seem, I'm a little out of it today and have been freaked for the past week. I have way too much on my plate with work needing to be done in the house...
My garage doors need to be replaced; my gutters have to be cleaned (yes, I think there are plants growing in them); I need an estimate for a new roof; and just found out that my shower doors(which were fine before the plumbers "fixed" the leak in my shower pan and the tile installer put a new marble floor)are now not the right size!!! WTF???
Does it ever end? I have no idea what this means...wait, yes I do. I have to get new ones?? That's way up in the thousands and I'm about to have a breakdown.
Ok, so unfortunately, I'm having one of those days. Not to mention, I have to cover about 10 more books with contact paper - I'm usually very precise about getting out all those bubbles, but this year, I'm saying "screw it" - a few bubbles never changed the overall covering of the book!!!
Guys, I'm gonna go as I have to make some calls for this money pit of a house. (Oh, I didn't even vent about my Hampton house which is currently up for sale, which, I believe we have to replace the rug on the lower level with tile, since, being so close to the water, causes some of the dampness (which is normal for houses so close to the water) to make it a little smelly. UGH!!!)
Under the circumstances, I am a failure at talking about travel today. So sorry. I'll try to be back in the swing of it tomorrow!!
Have a great day as I try to remember...This too shall pass!
