Hello everyone out there! This will be my last greetings from Miami on this Florida adventure of ours. Boy have we had an absolute BLAST! It's truly been amazing. But it's also been hard work...as many of my trips are. The gang is starting to show signs of exhaustion and are in need of some extra zzz's. I decided to wake up before sunrise again and to sit on our balcony once more to enjoy watch the sun make her appearance. There was something different this morning... I could spot 2-3 cruise liners making there way back into the Miami port. SAY WHAT??? There aren't supposed to be any cruises going out from USA ports yet... Well after a quick look up as to what ships these were and what they were doing, I found out that these ships were doing test cruises to practice new safety protocols sans any passengers. I for one cannot wait to start cruising again! But not today. Today, I opted to go on another early morning beach walk and this time we got a bit wet while we were out there on our way back - because it started raining on us! We had worked up a nice little appetite and made our way over to L’Artisane Creative Bakery. We ate at this lovely French bakery on Wednesday and could not stop dreaming about doing a return visit. It was just as delicious! The only problem now is that we don't have a "next" visit planned and Miami is a bit far for us to bop on over for an occasional brunch and or croissant. Oh well, we need to head to the airport soon, so I'm gonna sign off and meet you back here from my one day in Cali tomorrow for some fun dress up and trick or treating!! Tootles, -Travelin' Tanya | Happy Friday!! Yay! I'm extra happy today since both of my girls had off from school today and I got to sleep in till 7:30. It actually felt good to get that extra hour of sleep. Jumping ahead to 10am, Gianna and I had a virtual tour of another college this morning. This time it was Adelphi University in Garden City. As many of you know, we used to le right around the corner from Adelphi, so we are quite familiar with the campus. It is where I used to regularly take my walks and may I say that it is quite a beautiful and lush setting. I actually found out today that Adelphi University’s Long Island campus is a registered arboretum and a model of institutional sustainable energy practice. So what exactly does this mean? An arboretum in a general sense is a botanical collection composed exclusively of trees. But, it also contains living collections of woody plants and is intended at least in part for scientific study. I can absolutely vouch for the fact that Adelphi University's campus is full of some of the most beautiful plantings in one small area. Here are some pictures I've taken during my many, lovely walks around the campus. Certainly a colorful and nature-filled environment in which to attend school!! Great list to check out from Best College Reviews - The 50 Most Beautiful College Arboretums See ya back here tomorrow! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
