Food Festival and Family Fun

Happy Monday to ya! (Yes I wrote this yesterday and for some reason it didn't post)

Chapin just excitedly came running into my room announcing that Christmas is only 56 days away! That's right...It is exactly 8 weeks away!!!

While I've started Christmas shopping months ago - I really still have so much more to go. And I'm not the type to wait until the last minute (for anything), so of course when it comes to Christmas shopping I love stretching it out and giving myself plenty of time.

Let me stop dead in my tracks right here and now since tomorrow (now TODAY) is Halloween and we still have lots to look forward to before the Jolly Fat Guy comes with a "Ho Ho Ho" down the chimney.

Speaking of the day before Halloween - today marks exactly one year that we have Goldie - our little rescue that was found at our feet 365 days ago!

And now for your Daily Scoop:

As most of you have already noticed - I was MIA this weekend. It was a very fam bam festivity fun filled weekend with lots to do and much running around.

I'll focus on Sunday. While it wasn't a very early morning, I had to finish up laundry (not part of the fun), and then head straight to the nail salon to go for my lovely pedicure. One of the few times that I didn't get my fingers and toes done simultaneously.

Next, Dave and I waited for a call from Cosette (who had a sleep over on Saturday night after a costume party). While waiting, it was a good time to do Dave's packing.
Side note: I will never understand why he gets so moody about packing! UGH

I got a message from the mom at the sleepover, that she was planning on driving Cosette home - rather than have me go pick her up. And so once Cosette arrived, we loaded up and headed back to the 3rd Annual SoCal VegFest.

Cosette, Dave and I knew exactly which booths we wanted to eat at (again - since we were also there on Saturday) and we had a list of new ones to try.

Then it was time to DIG-IN!!

I had wanted to get back home in time to watch game 5 of the MLB World Series, but I received a text reminding me that Chaplin was going to the pumpkin patch. I knew that it was more important to share the memories at the pumpkin patch and thus I opted to put the game on the radio and go have some pumpkin fun with sweet little Chaplin...

Then to my surprise even my mum and Brigitte had showed up!

I still had an errand or 2 to run, still had to make dinner, hopefully catch some of the game and we had a 9:30pm movie to catch!

It was a long, fun filled Halloweekend day and somehow I actually managed to stay awake throughout the entire length of the 3 hour movie! NOW THAT IS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!

The movie was Blade Runner 2049 and meanwhile the baseball game was crazy. With the score going back and forth over and again. I couldn't not keep an eye on it - even while at the theater. And in the 10th inning Houston finally won!
