NYC Girls' GetawayGreetings from New York City!! I must say, it was so delightful waking up this morning knowing I could SLEEP!! Yay! Day off from being a short order cook for breakfast and lunch, being a chauffeur, laundry, dinner, straightening, running around. Nothing like a break from the routine!! Not sure what we are going to do today and to tell you the truth, I'm fine with having not plans. We will see what the day brings. I arrived in the city last night, via the Long Island Railroad, after helping out at the school's annual wrapping party! Lots of us came to wrap gifts for the children's Christmas boutique in December. Wine & Cheese were also there for us to indulge in!! Most of the women stayed till after 10pm, but I had to scoot out of there at 8:30 to catch my train. I stopped home so Tedd could drive me to the station and the kids were still awake. They wanted to come for the ride to drop me off. Well, upon arriving there, the tears ensued by both Gianna and Kelsey. They couldn't understand why in the world I'd want to go to the city "just to hang out with Aunt Danielle, when I could do that just as easily from home." Any mother needs no explanation for why!! Now, I need to rant a little about Penn Station. I arrive into Penn at like 10pm, with a wheeling suitcase. I'm thinking, I'll just wheel all the way! I arrive at the first set of escalators only to find to my complete dismay that only the DOWN escalators are working! So, now I have to lift this heavy suitcase and drag it up the full flight of a non-working escalator! I thought I was going to have a heart attack by the time I got to the top!! The most ridiculous thing in the world - keep the down running and shut off the up?? Makes no sense! Me and Danielle are off for a kid-free day!! I'll give you a full run down of our day and our dinner tonight! Happy Hump Day!! -E | Happy Hump Day!!!Howdy everyone! As you probably know around here it's WHERE TO GO WEDNESDAY! And Elisa has definitely found a good place to go! Celebrating both her birthday and Danielle's birthday in the city that never sleeps! What fun, sisterly good time! I can't wait to hear all about what they decide to do! I just luv NYC! Being born in Manhattan and taking my first breaths in the Big Apple...I'm pretty sure that the energy that runs in & out of that city ran right into me! But today will be just another ordinary day here in SoCal for me, one thing I will be doing is taking Cosette to her Horseback riding lesson (as it had to rescheduled from yesterday). As much as I am an addict about all things travel, this kid is an addict about all things horses! She has horses on the brain 24/7!!! I happened to be flipping through the Justice for Girls catalog, looking for some cute winter items to buy her, and when I handed her the catalog to show me what she liked, she acted very aloof about it. I questioned why, and if she wasn't into Justice anymore than what store does she prefer...Her answer - Greenhawk...an online tack store! And as I was up late last night, researching tons on Iceland. I had a decision to make about the Southern Coast (that I definitely want to see) - take another organized tour or rent a car and go on a self guided tour...see the for my thoughts and more on this fun and exciting upcoming trip!!
