Travel Plans Ahead... Today is my big day to go into the city for a few days and get away from the daily routine with a mini vacay! When I made the plans, I completely forgot I had volunteered for one of the committees in the evening. Each year, the girls' school does a Christmas boutique for the kids and they form a committee of people to wrap gifts so that when the kids pick something out, they can take a pre-wrapped gift. So, tonight is Wrapping night. After a few hours of wrapping (and I believe drinking wine!), I'll head into the city to meet Danielle. I'm not sure what we will do tonight since it will be late, but more than likely a drink at the hotel bar will be in order. That's the good news. The bad news is that the kids have been asking me for the past two days if I "really" have to leave. So, I'm sure I'll be in for some whining when they get home from school. Well, what a morning today has been for me and Tanya and our site. Sometimes it just amazes me how we think of the exact same thing at the exact same time. We have both wanted to bump of the look of our site for a while. Wouldn't you know that we were both working on this "new and improved" look at the same time! The only difference is that my modifications (not yet published) were saved and Tanya lost all of her's!! She was really annoyed, to say the least. In any case, we are so excited to reveal our new look, which will enable a lot easier navigation for all of our followers!! Stay tuned as we uncover it all on Friday!!  Since it's Travelin' Tuesday, let's talk trips!! I have been a busy beaver this week getting things in order for a few upcoming trips, but admittedly, not as busy and productive as I need to be. * New York Cousins November (Nov. 2014) This trip is right around the corner!! We will be getting together twice during the month of November. Tanya and I locked into a few fun plans for her visit prior to heading off to Iceland. I'm going to let the girls play hooky one day so we can have a FoodFest in Astoria, Queens. We found, what looks like two eatery finds - an Italian restaurant with a number of vegan options! And a Dessert "Sweetery" with a plethora of dairy and non dairy treats. You can be sure we will tell you all about these places on future Foodie Fridays!! * Florida Trip (Feb. 2015) I decided to plan out a fun trip to Florida for the kids' winter break this year. We are going to hit a few places, as I mentioned in previous blogs, which include Clearwater Marine Mammal Aquarium, Disney World, Universal Studios and possibly LegoLand. This is what I accomplished this week: > Disney Theme Park Hotel Booked > Rental Car Booked > Disney Park Tickets Purchased > Disney Dining Booked Things to do: > Airfare: I have my name on some airfare alerts as the rates are terribly high for this week, so I'm on top of this > Clearwater Hotel: I have it narrowed down to two hotels, so I will decide and book one of them this week. > Tickets to Universal: Will purchase these this week * Yellowstone Trip (April 2015) I feel very foolish about this trip. Tanya and I finally agreed on dates for this road trip (after she realized that the first set of dates didn't work because she forgot her little niece Chaplin's birthday fell during this time frame). Well, wouldn't you know it, I looked at the calendar and realized the week prior, which we locked into, was the same week as the kids' NYS Math tests. UGH!!! So, I decided, before we go and change everything, I would just check with Gianna's teacher to see if she is able to make the tests up the week she returns. Awaiting her reply so we can finalize plans. Keeping my fingers crossed because we may not be able to slug this in otherwise with our dear cousins due to conflicts with other travel plans and Easter holiday.  * Tanya & Elisa's Milestone Birthday Trip to Eastern Europe (June-July 2015) Tanya ordered the same travel book as me so we could get crackin' on getting this trip planned. I'm thinking we are going to be talking about this a lot when she visits next month!! Niagara Falls & Toronto (July 2015) I told Tanya that we are IN for this trip this summer, so we will now begin the planning!!! Another Cousins' Road Trip -yay! So, from the way I see it, I have a lot of work to do to get these trips in order! See ya back here tomorrow!! Have a good one! -E | Plans are Brewing... What a freakin' fantastic morning! I woke up to receiving a text from Elisa about the blog. Somehow we were on the EXACT same page with our efforts in making this page more reader friendly and adding an index (home directory page), which is what we've been wanting to do for a while!!! Quite sadly all of my work was LOST! I can tell you that I am quite pissed about this - to say the least! But the good news is that since we were working on the exact same thing in the exact same manner, the page is still very much what I tried to save! I am just utterly AMAZED! If we were twins or something, then it would probably just be another day in the life...lol But we came up with the same project and pieced it together for the other one to see (SURPRISE!) all while the other one (being Elisa and I) were fast asleep! What are the odds?!?! Same exact wave length! AMAZED I tell ya!!! And it will all be revealed to you on Friday! Mark your calendars!!!  It also happens to be Travelin' Tuesday! And we have exactly 2 weeks before we are Travelin' once again!!!
