New Week - Mini Vacay in NYC PlannedWelcome to a new week! Monday is here again. Had a great weekend in the Hamptons with lots of Halloween festivities with the family and friends. How was your weekend? Fun, I hope. Today is a pretty usual day - daily coffee klatch with Denise. Then I have to collect the kids from school early as they have their annual wellness visits today. I have to share with you an example of just how silly things are between me and Tanya. I was getting up at 6am this morning and Tanya had not get gone to bed! As a result we were chatting away. We ended our conversation with a "Goodnight" from me and a "Good morning" from her! That's my excitement for today (other than homework, dinner and bedtime). My excitement begins tomorrow when I head into Manhattan for a fun sister's weekend with Danielle in celebration of our birthdays. We will be spending three nights together at a boutique hotel with a spa. I'm looking forward to some relaxing treatments and delicious meals! Gianna and Kelsey are never happy when I go away, no matter what the length of time. Last night, Gianna in particular was giving me a hard time about leaving this week. I miss them both terribly whenever I go away. But, at the same time, I just believe it's so important to schedule some alone time to recharge my mommy battery! Here's what I'm thinking about for our stay: * Get Half-Priced Tickets to a Broadway Show There are a few shows I have not seen yet that I would really enjoy seeing: A Delicate Balance with Glenn Close and John Lithgow; Chicago (never saw this on Broadway!), You Can't Take it With You with James Earl Jones and Rose Byrne. Plus, Hugh Jackman (Mr. Hottie) is on Broadway in The River. So many choices, but we'll have to see what's available. * Dinner at One of the Hot NY Restaurants Me and Danielle, both love eating! But, we also love to experience new, hot places with great atmosphere. One our oldest and dearest friends, Cheryl may be meeting us on Wednesday night for dinner. I'm thinking of either a tapas bar or some a nice eclectic Italian restaurant. We'll probably eat somewhere in the Hell's Kitchen area of NYC. * Spa Services I'm so looking forward to a wonderful massage and perhaps even a facial offered at the hotel we will be staying at this week! Just to relax and not have to be a on a schedule will make these treatments even more enjoyable! What do you have planned for this week? Anything interesting you'd like to share? We'd love to hear from you!! Please feel free to comment. We love getting to know our followers! Going to start my day. It's a new week, and after a very fun filled weekend I'm ready to take it on and tackle it with full enthusiasm! With just over 2 weeks to go before the kids and I take to the skies and head back east again, there is plenty for me to do in preparation while I'm still here. Gotta continue tackling my never ending to-do list, and that's okay because I have a busy mind and if I didn't have things to do then I would just find things to do, which is kind of what my to-do list is anyhow! My things to-do, written by meeee :) Speaking of my busy mind, I just research and plan at all hours of the day and night. In fact, I still hadn't gone to bed and was still awake doing "stuff" when Elisa was waking up this morning to start her day! And this definitely wasn't the first time! Read the WELCOME page for more! After catching glimpses of Dave B successfully pull off his role in Jet's film project dressed in drag, we had finally make our way out shopping, to grab a late lunch, and to go have tea! While we were out and about, we ate at Seabirds Kitchen. Lunch was lovely, we shared a variety of small plates as appetizers and each ordered our own entree. I had a Portobello Mole Quesadilla, Dave had the Butternut Squash Enchiladas, and Cosette tried the Biscuits and Gravy; Dominic had stayed at home with my mom and the rest of the crew who spent the day primarily relaxing, putting in his request for an Avocado Taco to be brought back home for him. I had originally wanted to order the Biscuits and Gravy, but it had just sounded a bit too heavy. They weren't. That was the winner savory plate for this meal. I only ate less than a third of my dish. It's certainly not that it was bad... it's just that I don't even like Mole. I don't know what was wrong with me, why did I order THAT?! I enjoy quesadillas, and I think the thought of having a quesadilla won over the idea of eating Mole. So I hope my membership to the "Clean Plate Club" isn't revoked! We couldn't leave there without trying a piece of the scrumptious looking pies that were in the bakery case! Cosette and I had went with Blueberry at the server's personal recommendation. Dave had to skip on dessert, as he is currently going Gluten Free. It was soooo good! I don't think I'll go back to this restaurant ever again without ordering a piece of that delicious pie! It was so good, that as I managed to take pictures of all the rest of the plates that were delivered to our table... I started digging right into this one and forgot all about grabbing a photo, until after I took a bite! (BTW you'll get to see all of these mouth watering foodgasmic photos in one of my upcoming editions of Foodie Friday!) Finally made it to the bookstore, and as we were about to get out of the car, Cosette started massaging my back! Little did I know she was just itching her knuckles. LOL Then she said "Ahhhh you know what that means.." I asked "What?" She said "Ya know when your hand is itchy...the Superstition... Means you're gonna get in a fight." I said "Ohhhh... no wonder my hands are always itchy!" LOL And at her request I'm sharing this little laugh we got with you ;) So, now I'm gonna go make a few calls, set up a few plans, and have plenty to tell you... tomorrow! Same time, same place? Whadda ya say? Is it a date? :) -T |
