The Long Island Vegan Extravaganza
Well a big Friday hello to you!!!
I hope your week was fabulous and that you have lots of plans for the upcoming weekend! Tomorrow, Kelsey has her Catholic High School Entrance Exam and I do not lie when I tell you that I cannot wait until this test is over. We will have a few months before she hears back about her acceptance, and any possible scholarships, but at least the pressure will be off my girl. So....are you enjoying these great photos of Greece this week?? I'm having an absolute blast posting them and telling you guys all about the various islands and towns that Tanya is visiting. There is only one problem...I want to be there too!!! Today, Tanya is in Argostoli, a town and a former municipality on the island of Kefalonia, Ionian Islands, Greece. The town was once renowned for its elegant Venetian-era architecture. Sadlly, as a result of an earthquake in 1953, just about all of it was destroyed. However, today Argostoli is a vibrant and lively town. One of the focal features and the place where locals hang out is just inland at the pedestrianised Plateia Valianou, which is home to lots of restaurants. During the summer, things really get going when musicians roam about the streets singing kantades (traditional songs accompanied by guitar and mandolin). If shopping is your thing (as it is for me and my dear cuz, Tanya!), the pedestrian shopping street, Lithostroto is located just south with an abundance of stylish boutiques and cafes. Sounds heavenly!!!
Long Island Vegan Extravaganza
Sisters of St Joseph 1725 Brentwood Road Brentwood, NY 11717 October 26, 2019 11 AM - 5 PM Following Kelsey's exam tomorrow morning, me and my gang will reward ourselves with an afternoon of good eats at the Long Island Vegan Extravaganza!! This indoor event is right up our alley as we love the excitement of walking about meeting and greeting local vendors of delicious vegan food, wares & local nonprofits. After checking out the exhibitor list, I spotted a few familiar vendors that we are well acquainted with from other vegan events and pop-ups. Tomorrow's festivities will include live music, inspiring speakers, children’s activities, and more. It is highly recommended that tickets be bought in advance. What's more, all proceeds will fund animal rescue/sanctuary activity and future community events by LI Vegan Extravaganza. Here is a sneak peak at the vendor list - recognize any of these?? Savory:
