BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
Reflections of a productive day
Well hello to you!!
Wow! What a day I had yesterday! Actually, it was an amazing day for both me and Tanya. Why? Well, we accomplished sooo much - work-wise and for our website - and when we were congratulating each other on how much we had accomplished, we realized that it was only Monday!!! Don't ya just love days like that?! So, as you can probably tell by now, we have done a bit of an overhaul to our site. It was time to freshen things up and that's what we decided to do. And just so you know, it is still a bit of a work in progress - you'll be seeing a few more modifications in the coming days. However, we do hope you find our changes esthetically pleasing!
Thank goodness I was able to focus so much on business yesterday because today is one of those "making progress on the homefront" kind of days.
I have an inspector from the town coming over this morning to close out a permit on some work I had done several years ago. Then, in my "hauling" effort to clear out my house before moving (no, I didn't find a house yet), I have some lovely ladies coming by later this morning to take a few rugs. I'll be running over to the vet mid-afternoon, as Punkin has some kind of rash on her underarms. Not sure what it is, but it looks so darn ugly and uncomfortable. By the time I return home, Kelsey will be getting off the bus and within a few minutes of that, I have to drive over to pick up Gianna from school! Whew. Of course, that doesn't include the food shopping I already did this morning and the vegetable soup I still need to prepare for dinner. So, while this is a short one, I wanted to leave you with an interesting article from AFAR Magazine. It's pretty eery that we are living in a time of such advanced technology, but take a gander... TSA PreCheck Members, Get Ready to Start Using Facial Recognition According to the article, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration is planning to incorporate more biometric screening measures within airports, and TSA PreCheck members will be kicking off the process. In fact, TSA has already begun some biometric screening testing for TSA PreCheck travelers. Delta Air Lines has partnered with the CBP and TSA to introduce the first biometric terminal in the United States at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport later this year. Read more... I kind of find this all fascinating and scary all at the same time. I guess it's a reflection of the times we live in. Ok folks, I'm off to have another productive day!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
Is it really only Tuesday?!
Hey guys!
As usual when I'm here at home, I tend to bop on here a little bit later than Elisa. It's all these various time zones. lol Because when I'm in Europe and hours ahead of Elisa, I manage to be first on the blog, but really...who knows what time I will finally get on here while in China! Like for instance right now it's noon in New York, whereas it's 9am here in California. Yet in China it's already tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12am. So Far East that it's easier to get there by heading west. Plus who knows what the wifi will be like. It may be easy peasy cotton breezy. Or it might be a daily struggle to post the Daily Scoop. I guess we'll all find out at the same time. COUNTDOWN TO CHINA in exactly 2 weeks!!!
As you have probably noticed and read in Elisa's column, we have made lots of little changes here on the website. And yesterday was a day of major productivity both on the site and off.
By late afternoon, it was time for us to head out to choir. Mika wanted to come along with us and off to Long Beach we went. I've actually been bringing Mika along with us to choir rehearsals and performances since she was just a tiny little thing!
Our first and usual Monday stop was to grab a bite at Thein Dang in Garden Grove for some delicious and authentic vegan Vietnamese food.
Once at rehearsal, I had our monthly board meeting and it was rather funny that when I was making reference to earlier in the day or Sunday (the day prior) I felt like it had already been days ago and that we were already midweek!
So on that note, I'm thinking it's gonna be a long one. Well, the MLB World Series starts tonight and I haven't got anyone to root for. Just hoping for some good games at this point. Enjoy your day, -Travelin' Tanya |
