Fall Preview & Halloween WeekendHey there!! So here we are again on Travelin' Tuesday! I'm really looking forward to hearing from Tanya today about her upcoming trip to Iceland next month! I will be honest with you, Iceland was always one of those places I figured I would get to "at some point." But, now that my bestest cousin will be venturing there and can tell me all about it first hand, well, you know I'll be adding that to my list of places to go! What I'm most excited about is that after her Iceland trip, Tanya, Cosette and Dominic will be staying with us for the four days leading up to Thanksgiving! This is the very first holiday that we are spending together in over 30 years! Once she is in New York with us, we will be doing all the fun, family, holiday things that we have never done before! We've been planning the menu for weeks and we will be food shopping together, preparing the meal and then enjoying the fruits of our labor on Thanksgiving Day!! I just can't wait!!! It's hard to believe that we are approaching the end of October. I still have lots happening this month! This upcoming weekend, I'll be heading out East for a two-day Horseback Riding extravaganza. Saturday will be a regular lesson and time to get the horses "costumes" ready for the Sunday Halloween Festival & Craft Fair being held at the barn. If you are out near Manorville this weekend, stop by for this entertaining and lively day of Halloween fun. Dream Come True Farm Halloween Festival & Craft Fair When: Sunday, October 26th 10am - 4pm (Rain or Shine) FREE ENTRY/FREE PARKING What To Expect: **Free Pizza & Capri Sun Drinks for Kids** Face Painting * Balloon Creations Craft Tables * Pumpkin Painting * Popcorn Cotton Candy * Raffles * Music Pony Rides * Bouncy House * Prizes Halloween Party (costumes welcome!) Where: DCT Farm – 147 Eastport Manor Rd, Manorville, NY 11949 Directions: www.dreamcometruefarm.com I mentioned this event to Denise and she was completely into coming out and hanging with us for the day! The weekend following Halloween, we'll be headed into New York City on the first Sunday in November for my "tourist day" in Manhattan. I'm so stoked that Denise and her family will be joining us again! We'll start off with brunch at the Rock Center Cafe and watch the view of the skaters gliding around the Rink. Then, after a tasty meal, we'll all make our way over to our double decker tour bus ride all around downtown! The bus will take us past historic landmarks like Times Square, The Empire State Building, Flatiron District, Greenwich Village, NOHO, SOHO, Little Italy, St. Paul's Chapel, World Trade Center site, Wall Street, Battery Park and The United Nations. We have to put a plan together as to where we want to "Hop off" and "tour" or just take pics, but I can tell you, this will be quite a day of photo ops and laughs as we ride around like tourists in our own city!!! So psyched! So, that's if for now folks. Hope you have a wonderful Autumn planned! Enjoy your day and see you back here tomorrow!! -E | Many Thanks and Many Plans!Hellooooo Everyone! Another day and more to be excited about.. For starters you guys are the BomB dot Com! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU What am I thanking you about you might be asking by now? Well our ranking has improved to where we are now #6 in Travel! And our overall number has dropped by 60+ spots overnight!!! Please continue to vote for us, remember all it takes is a simple click! Next reason I'm totally amped is that TODAY is Travelin' Tuesday, and as much as I must admit that Foodie Friday is probably my favorite day of articles (sometimes I have to wipe the drool off of my computer! lol) Travelin' Tuesday is just so iconically what we are all about!!! So, as you know or at least should know that the kids and I are venturing off to Iceland -the Land of Fire and Ice in a mere 24 days! I have our basic itinerary complete and have been working on booking some of the tours - Yesterday I booked our Viking Horseback Riding Tour! I am super stoked for this, as I know this will be the highlight of the trip for Cosette and definitely up there as one of my highlights as well! Continue to check back often as I keep adding to the Iceland Trip Planning Page!! Yesterday was also filled with much other trip planning as well. Elisa and I had discussed what the preliminary outline to our Yellowstone National Park trip will be and we started searching out properties that may serve as our potential home base for that trip! I also continued booking and planning our trip to the Quebec Winter Carnival... (Quebec trip planning page in progress..) I must say that I felt a bit stupid when I realized that Mont Treblant is right outside of Montreal vs being right outside of Quebec City (where I had always pictured it!) But none the less, I have scheduled some time spent visiting the wonderful Les Laurentides, the historic Francophone villages, and of course hitting the slopes!!! And as Elisa has mentioned we will be staying with her upon our return from Iceland! We can't wait for all the fun holiday traditions and festivities to commence! It'll definitely be quite different from the recent years past Thanksgivings (more on this as we get nearer to the holiday)! Today Cosette has her horseback riding class, and Dominic has 2 classes tonight, lots more to do and you'll find out all about it here in the Daily Scoop tomorrow! See ya then :) -T |
