Good day everyone from the Happiest Place on Earth! I am so sorry that I failed to post yesterday - we got back from a long day at Hollywood Studios, everyone was exhausted, we had dinner, I took a soak in the Jacuzzi tub and then bopped online and... FELL ASLEEP!!! Yup I guess I was pretty exhausted too. LOL I was well rested and ready to blog this morning but had so much to tell Elisa that texting was just not gonna do. A phone call was needed and we both said we had about 15 minutes to talk... But once we started talking, we really start talking. And by the end of the call it was 1 hour and 45 minutes. So I'll keep sending Elisa photos and videos to upload and I will get back online to fill in the blanks just as soon as I can. Luv you guys. Now off to Epcot we go!! -Travelin' Tanya | Happy Sunday! Another gorgeous day here on Long Island and I'm just about to jump out for my morning walk. But, before I run, we've got some great stuff to share with you today!! As you know, Tanya is now in Orlando at Disney World and she just happens to be there during the annual Epcot Food and Wine Festival! While this year's festival might be a bit different due to the covid-19 pandemic, there will still be lots to see, talk about and eat! One thing that is truly great is how Disney has and continues to keep all dietary needs in mind with their restaurants and events and the Festival is no different. With lots of vegan options this year, we're going to give you the inside skinny (below) for those of you who may be visiting this year and to get on your travel calendar for a future trip during the Food and Wine Festival. Well, I'll let you get to it below! Enjoy the day!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
Epcot Food and Wine Festival - Vegan Style 2020
This year, the festival will run longer than in past years, having opened on July 15, 2020 and continuing well into the Fall through November 22, 2020 and is part of a "blended" festival with the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. It is also slightly different due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with what Disney called a modified Festival, named "A Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival.” The event is one of our favorite Epcot happenings throughout the year as it features special kiosks set up around the World Showcase with food and drinks that reflect various countries - a potpourri of good eats and drinks to tantalize the taste buds!
Considering the ideal weather that Orlando experiences in the month of October, this week was the perfect time for Tanya to make her way to the happiest place on earth.
What’s more, while the number of vendors and kiosks may have been modified to accommodate the health regulations, there is no shortage of plant-based options this year!
Here is a breakdown of what and where to find delectable eats throughout the festival, thanks to VeganDisneyFood.com. and Tanya who is on-site now. There are videos below, so if they are not viewable in the emailed version of The Daily Scoop, just click link to the website in order to view!
This yummy dish is available at the Mac & Cheese kiosk and from the looks of it, this dish would appear to be very tasty. Well, according to Tanya, it was not only tasty, but better than expected!!
This yummy plant-based compote is available at Shimmering Sips and according to VeganDisneyFood.com, "The Banana Bread comes with a mixed berry compote topped with a dollop of non dairy whipped cream.." Tanya advised me she will be indulging in this item when she returns to Epcot on Friday.
The Impossible(tm) Burger Slider - All Vegan Kiosk
Great for both Vegans and non-vegans, Impossible burgers have grown in their popularity. These sliders, featured at All Vegan feature a topping of vegan wasabi cream and spicy asian slaw.
Farmhouse Meatball - Earth Eats Kiosk
This is something that both cousins would surely love! Surrounded in a lentil bread, this Impossible(tm) meatball is combined with spinach and marinated onions and peppers along with mint and a creamy herb dressing.
Chocolate Pudding Terrarium - Earth Eats Kiosk
A very interesting combination of ingredients, the chocolate pudding terrarium is made of a chocolate avocado cream, matcha crumb and edible flowers!
Spicy Kenyan Vegan Githeri - Africa
This dish featured in Africa is made up of a combination of curry rice pilaf, white beans and pigeon peas, topped with a kachumbari slaw and micro greens.
Pineapple Dole Whip Soft Serve - Refreshment Port near Canada
This vegan favorite has been around, only this festival it is available with Bacardi Coconut Rum!!
Modified Spicy Hummus Fries - Morocco Marketplace
With four pieces per serving, these are a great share! Be sure to order naked WITHOUT the sauce or tzatziki to be vegan! According to Tanya, these are a bit spicy!
