As Elisa begins her birthday celebration, we are just coming off of Cosette's birthday celebration - we tend to do quite a bit of cousin tag teaming! lol
I do believe that Cosette had a marvelous birthday full of family fun and food (us cousins share a great love for food - if you haven't already noticed!)
So after a very satisfying and filling breakfast the next thing on our agenda was...going to lunch!
Our family friend Matt had joined us for some really super yummy grub at Freesoul Caffe (read review HERE) - I think the food just keeps getting better and better over there!
We were all having a loving afternoon around the table, when we got a wonderful surprise visit from Liz and Mika!
We were so glad that they could join us. Cosette ran outside and I missed the shot of the big group hug. My poor little Mika had just got back from having a cavity filled at the dentist, and her mouth was a bit numb causing a bit of an adorable, but crooked smile!
Oh and btw - yes Liz is now sporting a blonde look!
After lunch, I had to run over to pick up the cake and a few items needed for dinner that I somehow didn't manage to get before hand.
The day never skipped a beat, and as soon as we returned back home it was time to leave again - this time to go to the movies. And 'Pan' it was.
I had very low expectations, as the movie got some terrible reviews - but overall I'm pretty sure that the kids enjoyed it and I didn't find it so awful (as I expected)...although the wig application on Hugh Jackman was quite awful. LOL
It was then time to go home, have dinner (yup time to eat again), open presents, and have cake!
My sweet pie Chaplin was so über excited about the opening of presents, and Cosette was more than happy to let her join in on the fun. It was so freakin' adorable, that Chaplin had even went round robin giving out hugs for each of the presents opened!
This little one certainly loves everything about birthdays! And when asked who's birthday is next, she not only knows the next in line, but can go through the entire calendar and name the birthdays in consecutive order...I don't even think that many adults can do that!
All in all it was a wonderful day for everyone involved, and Cosette had genuinely loved each and everyone of her gifts.
As far as today goes, it happens to be TBT & pretty much my first break since arriving back from Hawaii on Saturday. It's my turn to share a Throwback story (Click HERE for story). And of course I'll share some fun Throwback pictures!
With my Grandmother, and sister Jet (1986)
With my prego mom (1990)
With my Mama (great-grandmother) (2000)
With prego Liz (2008)
Cosette and Mika (2010)
At Pitbull concert (2011)
These last 2 pictures are throwbacks from the last Gladiator Rock and Run that we did up in San Jose this past May, and it's also a reminder that we'll be out there again on Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena playing around in the mud and getting in beast mode all over again!
That just about covers it for now. I hope to see you back here to read this weeks edition of our TBT story later today. Until then, I'll bid you farewell - -T
Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 28 DAYS
Let the Birthday Celebration Begin!
Well, hello there!! And what a lovely day it is!
I'm so excited to begin my birthday celebration today! Tomorrow is my actual birthday, but, as I've done in so many years prior, I'm getting a jump on the festivities!
I'll be heading into New York City today for a full day of eating, laughing and fun.
My birthday week has always been one that I've shared with my sister Danielle because our birthdays are only 8 days apart. We have created so many memories from our annual birthday excursions in the month of October.
And this year is no different!! Most times the celebration goes on for many days. But, this year, we decided to spend only one night painting the town and then we'll head back to Long Island.
For my actual birthday, I'll be having a family dinner celebration tomorrow night and continue the fun into the Saturday our east at Dream Come True Farm with the kids' weekly horseback riding lessons.
Me and Sis back in the day on one of our birthday trips
I'm looking forward to reading Tanya's Throwback Thursday story today!
Oh - interesting little story on my end to share with you. Not sure if you remember a few months back I had written a Foodie Friday story about my Cooking Class in Tuscany last Summer.
I wrote the entire feature with tons of pictures and information and when I went to publish it on our site, it just disappeared!!! I searched everywhere for it. It was no where to be found!!
Well, yesterday, if you happened to notice while reading The Daily Scoop - my article mysteriously re-appeared at the bottom! I was totally freaked out by this, to say the least.
Now, I'm not sure if you read it yesterday while it was on our blog page, but I have since removed the story and moved it for publication tomorrow for my Foodie Friday feature. How weird is that??
I was just so thrilled to have found it after all the work I had put into it. I will link it to my blog tomorrow for your reading pleasure if you didn't already read it!!
Ok - gotta shake my tail feathers folks!! I'll tell you about my day and evening tomorrow!! And the food, of course!!!
