Pumpkin Picking on Long Island
Today is a totally special day for my little cousin Cosette a very Happy Birthday!!!!
One of the things we were going to celebrate in Florida all together was Cosette's and my birthday.
Well, we'll get another chance at celebration when we are all together in London in April.
IN honor of Cosette, I'd like to list why Cosette is so special...
C- CUTE AND PRETTY
O - OUTGOING AND FUN
S - SENSATIONAL PERSON & COUSIN
E - ENCHANTING IN HER PERSONALITY
T- TALKATIVE & INTERESTING TO LISTEN TO
E - ENJOYABLE TO BE AROUND
I hope it's a FABULOUS DAY for Cosette.
It's also Foodie Friday here on TC.
And it is one of the most beautiful Fall Days so far this year!
It reminds me of Pumpkin Picking, so I wanted to tell you about 3 great places here on Long Island for a fantastic day of Fall fun and picking pumpkins!
Harbes Family Farm, Mattituck
715 Sound Ave, Mattituck NY
Hours: 7-days (9am-6pm)
Can you imagine having something in the family for 13 generations???? Well, Harbes Family Farm has done just that and today boasts of three locations!
Their flagship location is in Mattituck and for a day of fun, pumpkin picking in two large pumpkin patches, corn mazes, a 10-acre "Barnyard Adventure" park, pony rides, hay rides, and lots of fresh produce and delicious food - this is the place to be!
They also have a a tasting room for the Harbes Vineyard.
White Post Farms, Melville
250 Old Country Road, Melville, NY
Hours 10AM - 4PM. You may stay until 6PM
Admission on Festival Days is $19 ($17.50+tax)
I love this place!! We've taken the kids here numerous times.
It is especially a blast during the Fall Farm Festival! This year it takes place from September 24th - October 30th
White Post Farms is one of the best places on Long Island for picking pumpkins with a large pumpkin patch and lots of entertainment happening.
It also features a magical comedy show (or a comedic magic show) by Jim McClenahan, a "canine cabaret," a barnyard game show, a hayride sing-a-long, the Tricks for Treats Exotic Bird Show, and a performing horse show appropriately titled "Horses Horses Horses!"
There's also no shortage of food with the likes of roasted corn, candy apples, or fresh funnel cake.
Lewin Farms, Calverton
812 Sound Avenue, Calverton, NY
Another family-run farm, Lewin is fourth-generation and offers pumpkins as well as many other fruits and vegetables including apples, eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes.
The first pick-your-own farm on Long Island, "U-Pick Pumpkins" starts today, October 14th.
Their corn maze spans over five acres and has a different design every year.
There you have it!!
I've got to get moving here and get a few errands done before the kiddies get back from school.
Have a great one!!
